Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) performs a vital role in the pathogenesis of hematopoietic malignancies. Therefore in recent times, the focus of several studies was on use of FLT3 as a prognostic marker. The present study investigated the molecular characterization and incidence of FLT3 mutations in acute leukemia patients in Pakistan. A total of 55 patients were studied, of which 25 were suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and 30 were suffering from acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The polymerase chain reaction demonstrated FLT3/ITD mutations in 1 (4%) of 25 ALL patients, a male with the L2 subtype. In AML cases the rate was 4 (13.3%) of 30, three males and one female. The AML-M4 subtype was found in three and the AML M2 subtype in the other. In the AML cases, a statistically significant (p=0.009) relationship was found between WBC (109/L) and FLT3/ITD positivity. However, no significant relationship was found with other clinical parameters (p>0.05). In acute myeloid leukemia (AML) $FLT3/ITD^+$ mutation was more prevalent in elderly patients 31-40 age groups, 21-30 and 51-60 age groups respectively. In acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) statistically no significant relationship was found between clinical features and FLT3/ITD positivity (p>0.05). However, in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) $FLT3/ITD^+$ mutation was more commonly found in age groups of 21-30.
Momentum Strategies and Stock Returns: A Case of Saudi Stock Market

This paper investigates the presence of momentum profits in the Saudi stock market. The study applied a quantitative method by utilizing monthly closing prices of 194 listed firms on Tadawal (Saudi Stock Market). The data from January 2010 to February 2019 is taken from the Tadawal market database for analysis. The sample is further divided into two equal sub-samples based on the structural changes that occurred in the Saudi stock market. Moreover, the high- and low-value traded portfolios are also constructed to examine the presence of momentum profits. Sixteen investment strategies are formed for each sample. The results show a very strong presence of momentum profits in the Saudi stock market for the full sample as well as for the sub-samples. The momentum profits are observed for a longer investment horizon. The results confirm that the short or medium-term formation of portfolios produces negative momentum returns for high-value traded stocks. The low-value traded stocks portfolios give similar results to the full sample results in terms of momentum profits. The results suggest that an investor should keep an eye on the past performance of desired stocks for at least three-nine months in which they are willing to invest.

Synthetic dyes play a vital role in our daily life because they are utilized in products ranging from clothing to leather acces- sories. Unfortunately, these carcinogenic dyes are discharged into water streams any prior process considering the health problems in aquatic life and human beings. It is mandatory to separate noxious materials from wastewater. Semiconductors are viewed as a viable possibility for photocatalytic mineralization of noxious dyes. Herein, facile in situ hydrothermal approach (HT) was utilized for the fabrication of CuO, CuS ZnS, and their ternary CuO/CuS/ZnS nanocomposite. The fab- ricated CuO/CuS/ZnS nanocomposites were analysed through powder X-ray diff raction (PXRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope equipped with energy-dispersive X-ray (SEM–EDX), and ultraviolet– visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis). Moreover, the optical investigation manifested the bandgap energy value of copper oxide, copper sulphides, zinc sulphides, and ternary CuO/CuS/ZnS nanocomposite, corresponding to 2.63, 3.1, 4.51, and 2.2 eV, respectively, which was estimated from absorption spectrum. Subsequently, the photocatalytic results of CuO, CuS, ZnS, and ternary CuO/CuS/ZnS nanocomposite against methylene blue (MB) dye were 71%, 42%, 45%, and 96%, respectively. The photocatalytic scheme showed the role of hydroxyl radicals and electrons in the photodegradation reaction. Our fi nding suggests that the fabricated nanocomposite shows superior photocatalytic efficiency towards mineralization of methylene blue which can be used for commercial applications.

Retinotopy expresses the mapping of location preservation in the mechanism of human vision. However, a perception of the semantics of observed images in a scene is computed later in the hierarchy of neural information processing. Moreover, the utility of the perception to use it for planning is another challenging task as the human perception of objects in a scene is a putative orthographic projection. A monocular view from a front camera mounted on an autonomous vehicle captures a perspective projection view. Another challenge is in the use of a monocular camera in motion planning where navigation in the absence of any prior location information is required. This work suggests a solution of mapping the perspective view in a bird-eye-view (BEV) which is close to the orthographic projection. Furthermore, it suggests the use of the same processed information in an image to generate waypoints for maneuvering of the vehicle in absence of location information. The proposed technique uses clues inherent in the road infrastructure images using lane detection and utilizes a conventional computer vision’s inverse perspective mapping technique to generate BEV. The proposed technique is tested with the video dataset captured in urban and highway traffic to show its efficacy and its utility in motion planning.

Routing protocols of Mobile Ad hoc networks have long been considered as a viable solution in tactical networks as they provide relatively more robust communication mechanism. AODV’s capability of saturating the whole network with Route Request messages has been a topic of debate for quite some time and scientists have proposed various mechanisms to overcome this issue. In this paper, authors have proposed and evaluated an optimized version of AODV protocol. Performance of this methodology has been evaluated for its efficient applicability in tactical networks. OP-AODV effectively reduces routing overhead associated with AODV protocol. For evaluation of OP-AODV, authors consider the number of Route Request Messages, average end-to-end delay, route discovery time and routing traffic as vital performance metrics.
