        영어(英語)의 전이강세(轉移强勢)에 관한 고찰(考察)(기술구조주의(記述構造主義)를 중심(中心)으로)

        李一雨 ( Lee¸ Il-woo ) 현대영미어문학회 1983 현대영미어문학 Vol.1 No.-

After having studied the various methods on shifting stress, I drew the following conclusions: 1. Stress function in English is to clarifly the meaning, decide the sound value around vowels, and suprasegmental phoneme, which has the important phonemic function causes the meaning distinction of the same spelling, is generally classified into four. 2. While the the stress patterns of words and phrases are comparatively fixed, those of sentences are complex stress patterns in relation to the syntax. Also words or phrases have consistent rules according to the surface structure of the word formation and word order. Although each word is stressed when uttered alone, each individual word will not necessarily carry a strong stress in a sentence stress. There are fore stress, end stress and even stress in word itself as the general rule of word stress. The general rule of the phrase stress has a stress pattern of four stress /□□/ levels according to grammatical pattern. 3. Sentence stress differs from phrase stress. According to the principle of sense stress, major stress must be put on the content words in the sentence, function words generally have minor stress while primary stress comes near or at the end word of the sentence There happen to be many aspects of shifting stress of emphatic stress, and contrastive stress as well as rhythmical stress according to the sentence surface rhythm or the mind attitudes of speakers. This paper could present the minium sentence stress rules in these different kinds of stresses.

        조선전기 김정(金淨) 저(著) 「제주풍토록(濟州風土錄)」의 수록내용 성격과 가치

        김일우 ( Kim¸ Il-woo ) 고려대학교 역사연구소(구 역사학연구회) 2021 사총 Vol.103 No.-

Jeju Pungtorok is an excerpt and photoprint from the contents contained in the fourth volume of Collection of Scholar Chungam’s Works, a collection of poems and writings written by Kim Jeong. This is Kim Jeong’s reply to the questions from his sister’s son about Jeju's climate and local produce more than a year after he was exiled to Jeju in 1520 (the 15th year of King Jungjong's reign). The contents include Jeju's climate, house, religion, Jeju Dialect, customs, the life and sentiment of the people, topography, indigenous produce, the flora and fauna, places of natural beauty, and life of exile. Apparently, they were written based on the experiences and facts Kim Jeong gained and learned while living there in exile. Jeju Pungtorok is the first Jeju topography, as well as a vivid picture of Jeju's situation in the first half of the 16th century. As a result, its value as the historical materials can be regarded very high. On the other hand, Kim Jeong was a man of deep Neo-Confucianism and thorough in his thoughts enough to be revered by Neo-Confucian scholars even after his death. On the contrary, Jeju Island was a place where Neo-Confucian ideology was less developed as a socio-cultural standardization throughout the Joseon Dynasty. As a result, Kim Jeong is believed to have a rather negative viewpoint on Jeju's situation in the first half of the 16th century. He is also believed to describe the Jeju society from his own subjective perspective on the basis of Neo-Confucian worldview, not of the cultural pluralism.

      • Emerging contemporary gugak as the essence of Hallyu in Britain : Rediscovery of gugak and the geomungo

Ilwoo Park 아시아음악학회 2018 Asian Musicology Vol.28 No.-

The recent popularity of contemporary gugak (Korean traditional music) and performing arts in Britain is on the rise, and this is attributed to a combination of young Korean artists’ creativity and the aid of cultural agencies of both Korea and the U.K. with perfect timing. Along with the K-pop’s popularity, this resulted from the success of a series of the K-Music concerts (the fourth time in the 2017 season) performed by the young creative Korean performers who pursues global communications. These regular concerts initiated at the suggestion of strategic partnerships and cultural exchange between Korean and Britain by the UK government official in 2012. The year was momentous both for Korean music and Korean culture collectively called ‘Hallyu (Korean Wave)’ when Gangnam Style by Psy reached the top U.K. single chart through YouTube and the large scale of Korean festival took place in London during the London Olympic Games. These two crucial events fueled not only the spread of Hallyu, but the catalyst for major attraction of contemporary gugak in Britain. Shown in its recent concert series performed for the committed British audience, it will be a turning point in the history of Korean music. At present contemporary gugak is seen as great potential for the promotion of Korean cultural exports. This article examines the processes and background of contemporary gugak gaining the global status within the context of Britain.

C-VALUED FREE PROBABILITY ON A GRAPH VON NEUMANN ALGEBRA

        Ilwoo Cho 대한수학회 2010 대한수학회지 Vol.47 No.3

In [6] and [7], we introduced graph von Neumann algebras which are the (groupoid) crossed product algebras of von Neumann algebras and graph groupoids via groupoid actions. We showed that such crossed product algebras have the graph-depending amalgamated reduced free probabilistic properties. In this paper, we will consider a scalarvalued W¤-probability on a given graph von Neumann algebra. We show that a diagonal graph W*-probability space (as a scalar-valued W¤-probability space) and a graph W*-probability space (as an amalgamated W*-probability space) are compatible. By this compatibility, we can find the relation between amalgamated free distributions and scalar-valued free distributions on a graph von Neumann algebra. Under this compatibility,we observe the scalar-valued freeness on a graph von Neumann algebra.

        Group-freeness and certain amalgamated freeness

        Ilwoo Cho 대한수학회 2008 대한수학회지 Vol.45 No.3

In this paper, we will consider certain amalgamated free product structure in crossed product algebras. Let M be a von Neumann algebra acting on a Hilbert space H and G, a group and let α : G → AutM be an action of G on M, where AutM is the group of all automorphisms on M: Then the crossed product M = M ×α G of M and G with respect to ® is a von Neumann algebra acting on H l²(G), generated by M and {ug}g∈G, where ug is the unitary representation of g on l²(G), We show that M ×α(G₁* G₂) = (M ×α G₁) *M (M ×α G₂). We compute moments and cumulants of operators in M. By doing that, we can verify that there is a close relation between Group Freeness and Amalgamated Freeness under the crossed product. As an application, we can show that if FN is the free group with N-generators, then the crossed product algebra LM(Fn) ≡ M ×α Fn satisfies that LM(Fn) = LM(Fk₁ ) *M LM(Fk₂ ), whenever n = k₁ + k₂ for n, k₁, k₂∈ N. CLASSIFICATION ON ARITHMETIC FUNCTIONS AND CORRESPONDING FREE-MOMENT L-FUNCTIONS

Cho, Ilwoo Korean Mathematical Society 2015 대한수학회보 Vol.52 No.3

In this paper, we provide a classification of arithmetic functions in terms of identically-free-distributedness, determined by a fixed prime. We show then such classifications are free from the choice of primes. In particular, we obtain that the algebra $A_p$ of equivalence classes under the quotient on A by the identically-free-distributedness is isomorphic to an algebra $\mathbb{C}^2$, having its multiplication $({\bullet});(t_1,t_2){\bullet}(s_1,s_2)=(t_1s_1,t_1s_2+t_2s_1)$.
