        Turbo codes proposed by Berrou et al. in 1993 attracted enormous attention among the coding society due to the excellent empirical performance achieved by a simple encoding structure and a practical, implementable iterative decoding algorithm, the so-called turbo principle. Turbo codes have been shown to perform close to the Shannon limits at bit error rates (BER) between 10^(-4) and 10^(-6). However, because turbo codes has been required much decoding delay to increase iteration number, it demands unnecessary iterative decoding. Therefore, in this paper, we propose iterative decoding stop criterion that uses the average value of LLR. This algorithm can be reduced average iterative decoding number and had lossless performance of BER, because of decreasing unnecessary iterative decoding.

        In this paper, we are designing efficient error correcting encoder with detecting and correcting for channel error in the digital communication system. The designed blocks are reed-solomon encoder, interleaver, randomizer and trellis encoder. The designed encoder circuit is synthesized using MAX-plus Ⅱ synthesis Tool and verifying operation over the logic simulation.

        Modular memory is an essential component of any digital 1C design library. The major application of high speed register file has been as the main memory of large-scale computers, super computer, microcomputer, workstation, so on. So, in this thesis, The designed high speed register file for RISC processor, which is possible to processing concurrent I/O by seperating read/write bitline and word access TR has become one of the key embedded elements for processor VLSI's, because it allows simultaneous access from multiple resource and the parallel operations yield a high system throughput. Benefits include reduced constraints on the client units and simpler register to register programming models. Stable output characteristics was obtained by testing at peripheral circuits of operation and was designed by using 1.2[μm] CMOS design rule.

      • DSB 복조기용 저전력 반송파 복원 회로 설계

        In order to resolve problems according to the phase error in QPSK demodulator of the digital satellite broadcasting systems. The demodulator requires carrier recovery loop which searches for the frequency and phase of the carrier. In this paper the complexity of implementation is reduced by the reduction into half of the number of the multiplier in filter structure of the conventional carrier recovery loop, and as the drawback of NCO of the conventional carrier recovery loop wastes a amount of power for the structure of lookup table, We designed the structure of combinational logic without the lookup table. In the comparison with dynamic power of the proposed NCO, the power of NCO with the lookup table is 175µW, NCO with the proposed structure is 24.65µW. As the result, it is recognized that about one eight of loss power is reduced. In the simulation of carrier recovery loop designed QPSK demodulator, it is known that the carrier phase is compensated.

      • 광 전치증폭기를 이용한 WDM 수신기의 감도 해석

        In this study, we analysis an optical receivers using the optical preamplifier in a spectrum-sliced WDM systems. The average numbers of photons/bit, for an 10^(9) error probability, counts using the OOK and FSK transmission. As a result, the theoretical sensitivity for PIN receiver and optical preamplifier receiver are approximately 9.2×10^(4) and 7.2×10^(2) in the m=20, respectively. Also, the average numbers of photons/bit, for and given error probability, theoretical receiver sensitivity for Gaussian method and k-square method are approximately 9×10^(2) and 2.16×10^(2) in the m=40, respectively. And the average numbers of photons/bit, for an given error probability, theoretical receiver sensitivity, OOK and FSK transmission are approximately 1.9×10^(2) and 3.1×10^(2) in the m=20, respectively.

Though proposed algorithm strengthens security vulnerability of TCP/IP protocol and keep security about many user as that have authentication function in network environment, there is important purpose. So that new symmetric cryptographic algorithm implemented by hardware base cryptosystem and en/decryption is achieved at the same time, composed architecture.         '퇴원설명문'에 의한 72시간내 부적절한 응급센터 재방문의 감소

        Background : Patients who were discharged from the emergency department(ED) may revisit. These patients are divided into two groups; one is expected scheduled condition, the other is unexpected condition. These patients of inappropriate revisits to the ED would be unsatisfied, difficult to make rapport and take legal action as a result of additional medical charges. The purpose of this study was to reduce inappropriate revisits to the ED with a new method which was developed by analyzing inappropriate revisits in 2002. Methods : This study was conducted in a tertiary hospital consisting of 1,278 beds. The most common cause of inappropriate revisits was the medical team's lack of explanation about a disease. Thus we decided that the effective method was to offer full explanations to patients to understand the clinical pathway of a disease. We made four types of stickers to explain most common 4 diseases in 2003. An emergency physician completed 'discharge explanation report' and explained it to patients in 2004. Results : In 2002 inappropriate revisited patients were 164, patients with four diseases were 79. During the same period of 2003, inappropriate revisited patients were 56 (-65.9%), four disease patients were 6 (-92.4%) and in 2004 inappropriate revisited patients were 52, four disease patients were 19. Causes of revisits were lack of explanation about a disease in 35 patients (44.3%) in 2003, and 5 patients (83.3%) in 2003, and 16 patients (84.2%). Conclusions : Application of 'explanation stickers' at discharge reduced inappropriate revisits from 34.5% in 2002 to 15.9% in 2003. Application of 'Discharge explanation report' by emergency physician reduced inappropriate revisits from 15.9% in 2003 to 13.5% in 2004. Reduction of inappropriate revisits elevated the quality of medical treatment, and decreased patients' dissatisfaction in ED.

        For high-speed data communication in band-limited channels, main of the bit error are fading and ISI(Inter-Symbol Interference). The common way of dealing with ISI is using equalization in the receiver. In this thesis, channel adaptive equalizer which uses Fuzzy Stochastic Gradient(FSG) and Constant Modulus Algorithm(CMA) is nonlinear equalizer, or Blind equalizer, that works directly on the signals with no training sequences required. This equalizer employs Takagi-Sugeno's fuzzy model that uses the FSG algorithm, to automatically regulate the step size of the descent gradient vector, combining fast convergence rate and low mean square error(MSE), and the CMA which is a special case of Godard's algorithm, to having multiple dispersion constants(R_(D)).

        The study on the implementation of signal processing ASIC is advanced m the parts of the DS/CDMA using the direct sequence method which is better than any other type in the encryption aspect. Therefore, in this thesis, Pseudo Noise Code Generator suitable for the encryption aspect. Therefore, in this thesis, Pseudo Noise Code Generator of Code Tracking Sysytem for Digital Mobile Communication suitable for the DS/CDMA method including the additional characteristics for the spread spectrum signal processing technique, encryption technique which is protect to privacy between users, the decrease effects of the self-interference and transmission power spectral density, is designed to get the improved effects for the conventional (exciting) channel noise by using the Verilog-HDL.

        In this paper, we proposed the new structure of the Rake Fingerusing Walsh Switch, the shared accumulator, and the pipelineFWHT(Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform) algorithmfor reducing thesignal processing complexity resulting fromthe increase of the numberof data correlators. The functionsimulation of the proposed architectureis performed by Synopsys tool and the timing simulation is performedby Compass tool. The number of computational operation in theproposed data correlators is 160 additions and the conventional ones is512 additions when the number of walsh code channels is 4.
