국어 교육에서 학습자 특성을 반영한 매체 교육 내용 연구

‘매체’가 교육현장에 잘 반영되기 위해서는 매체에 이미 ‘익숙한’ 학습자를 대상으로 하는 교육인 만큼 학습자의 특성을 분석하고 이를 반영한 교육내용을 마련하는 것은 중요한 과제이다. 이에 이 연구는 학습자들이 가장 많이 활용하여 그들의 매체 문화를 엿볼 수 있는 SNS를 중심으로 학습자 특성을 분석해보았다. 그 결과, 매체에 유도된 표현 양상이 이미 습관화 되어 있었고, 매체를 통해 감정을 표출하고 교류하는 것이 일상적인 의사소통의 일부였다. 또한 친밀감을 중시하는 청소년들의 특성이 매체 문화 속에서 강화되어 인간관계의 문제가 24시간 온라인 상태로 존재하는 특수한 상황임을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 학습자 특성을 반영한 매체 교육은 매체에 대한 교육이어야 함은 물론이거니와, 매체를 어떻게 활용할 것인가에 대해 생각하게 하는 교육이어야 한다. 성찰 중심의 미디어리터러시를 제안하는 것은 이와 같은 이유에서이다. 학습자들은 이미 매체를 사용하고 있기에, 이로 인해 나타난 새로운 문화, 의미 소통 양상 등을 성찰할 수 있도록 이끌 필요가 있다. 또한 매체로 정보를 구성하고 유통하는 양상, 학습자들이 주체적으로 매체 자료를 생산하는 것, 매체 언어의 창의적 표현 방법 향유 등을 구체적 내용으로 하되 의사소통에 초점을 둘 필요가 있다. 매체가 의사소통의 도구이기 때문이다. 그리고 이러한 의사소통의 핵심에 ‘공감’이 자리해야 한다. 이것이 좀더, 적절하게 매체를 사용하는 학습자를 길러내는 하나의 교육적 방향이기 때문이다. When carrying out media education, it is an important task to prepare educational content that takes into account the learner’s characteristics when educating learners that are already accustomed to media. This study analyses the learners’ social media usage as it is the media that learners use the most extensively. It was discovered that using expressions within this media have become habituated and using the media to express emotions have become the usual mode of communication. Also the characteristic of teenagers that prioritise friendships have become strengthened in media culture so that the issue of relationships exist online 24 hours a day. Education that takes into account such characteristics of the learner needs to teach both the media itself as well as consider how to make use of the media. In particular, because the learners already make use of the media, the learners need to be led to examine the newly created culture, meaning, and modes of communication. Also, when creating media content, the focus needs to be on communication and the learners should be educated on how to make use of the creative expressions used in media language. This is because media is a tool in communication. Also, empathy needs to be at the centre of such communication. This is the way to educate learners to use media appropriately.
