Most of the gas exchange in the human body is carried out by the lungs, and the physiological activities of the lungs are uninterrupted. Due to the deterioration of the external environment, pulmonary cell lesions are common clinical lung diseases. Mechanical cyclic stretching is one kind of bionic technology to observe lung cancer cells. The A549 cell line is the human lung adenocarcinoma cell line derived from a primary lung tumor. This study investigated the effects of mechanical cyclic stretching on A549 cell activity and gene expression profile. Whereas mechanical cyclic stretching had no significant difference in colony formation and cell migration of A549 cells, the cell invasion increased significantly in A549 cells after stretching. In addition, the microarray data showed that mechanical cyclic stretching altered gene expression, induced inflammation of cells, and activation of Wnt/β- catenin and tumor necrosis factor pathways. More importantly, mechanical cyclic stretching activated the expression of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) protein. Therefore, the increase of cell invasion induced by mechanical cyclic stretching might be associated with the activation of TNF-α in human lung adenocarcinoma cells.
Bond mechanism effect on the flexural behavior ofsteel reinforced concrete composite members
Hsieh-Lung Hsu,Jia-Ling Juang 국제구조공학회 2006 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.6 No.5
This paper discusses the composite mechanism and its effect upon the behavior of a steel reinforced concrete (SRC) member subjected to a flexural load. The relationship between member strength and deformation is established using the bond strength between the steel and reinforced concrete. An analytical model is proposed and used to incorporate the sectional strains and bond strength at the elastic and inelastic stages for moment-curvature relationship derivation. The results from the flexural load tests are used to validate the accuracy of the proposed model. Comparisons between the experimental information and the analytical results demonstrate close moment-curvature relevance, which justifies the applicability of the proposed method.

This paper presents an effective hysteretic model for the prediction and evaluation of steel reinforced concrete member seismic performance. This model adopts the load-deformation relationship acquired from monotonic load tests and incorporates the double-pivot behavior of composite members subjected to cyclic loads. Deterioration in member stiffness was accounted in the analytical model. The composite member performance assessment control parameters were calibrated from the test results. Comparisons between the cyclic load test results and analytical model validated the proposed method’s effectiveness.
