In other to investigate α-1, 3 glucanase from microorganisms for hydrolysis of dental caries, S. muatns was immobilized by cubes of 28% polycrylamide and coated with same polyacrylamide. The insoluble glucan obtained 1.13g per one liter in TH medium with 5% sucrose by PA immobilization of S. muatns, which was very pure by IR and TLC analysis. α-1, 3 glucanase produced by of the Strptomyces SW-522, was developed by treatment with 5% EMS. The new Sw-522 M1 strain obtained, which improved activity of α-1, 3 glucanase.
복합섬유의 고속방사에 있어서 섬유구조형성(Ⅱ) : LLDPE/PET 복합의 효과 Effects of LLDPE/PET Bicomponent System

sheath-core형 복합섬유를 고속용융방사하여 방사속도에 따른 섬유구조의 변화를 검토하였다. 복합섬유는 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET) 및 2종류의 선상 저밀도폴리에틸렌(LLDPE), 즉 융체유동속도(MFR)가 45, 50인 것을 사용하여 LLDPE를 sheath에 PET를 core에 배치하였다 고속방사된 복합섬유중의 각 성분의 구조형성을 복굴절, 광각X선회절 및 열분석 등으로 검토한 결과, PET성분을 단독으로 고속방사한 경우에 비해 LLDPE의 MFR에 상관없이 LLDPE/PET 복합섬유중의 PET성분은 약 1km/min 낮은 방사속도에서 배향결정화가 일어나 PET성분의 섬유구조형성은 촉진되었으며, LLDPE성분의 섬유구조형성은 LLDPE 단독으로 방사한 경우에 비해 억제됨을 확인하였다. High-speed melt spinning of sheath-core type bicomponent fibers was performed and the change of fiber structure with increasing take-up velocity was investigated. Three kinds of polymers, poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET), linear low-density polyethylene(MFR=45) (LLDPE(45)) and linear low-density polyethylene(MFR=50) (LLDPE(50)), were selected and two sets sheath/core combinations, LLDPE(45)/PET and LLDPE(50)/PET(i.e. sheath/core), were studied. The structure of each component in high-speed spun bicomponent fibers was analyzed through the birefringence, wide-angle X-ray diffraction measurements and DSC thermogram measurements. The development of molecular orientation and the initiating of the orientation-induced crystallization of PET in LLDPE/PET bicomponent fibers occurred at lower take-up velocities regardless of the type of LLDPE as compared to those in the single component spinning. The fiber structure formation of LLDPE component in LLDPE/PET bicomponent fibers was suppressed as compared to that in the single component spinning.
The Comparative Results of Primary School Oral Health Program in Suncheon City

This study was to promote the business of school dental health program in community area and to present the improvement of oral health between public health center's group of SungDong elementary school, one that started on March 1999, and the control group that is going to operate school oral health center from 2009 in primary school. It was based on the data of more than 10 years running school based oral health section. We compared the data of SungDong group with the one of control group to get a survey of dental caries experience. The preventive effect of the caries was estimated by the difference of DMFT indices between the sample group and control group. The experience rate of caries of the sample was 12.6 percentage lower than the control group and index of the experience rate of caries for the SungDong group was two times less. It showed that the sealing rate of the SungDong group composed of pit and fissure sealant was 67.7 percentage high. The prevention rate which was calculated by DMFT index was 46.34 percentage in the SungDong group that was the highest score for the fifth grade student as a 60.5 percentage. This program contributes to the improvement of the dental caries reduction in this school oral health promotion program.
타임랩스 촬영 기법을 통한 배추흰나비 애벌레의 한살이 특성 분석

본 연구에서는 타임랩스(Time-lapse) 촬영 기법으로 애벌레의 행동 특성, 령기, 허물벗기 등을 녹화하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 배추흰나비 애벌레는 섭식 전 이동, 섭식, 휴식 전 이동, 휴식의 행동을 순환적으로 보였으며 같은 위치 혹은 근접한 곳에서 섭식 및 휴식을 반복하였다. 행동별 시간 비율에 대해서는 령에 상관없이 휴식, 섭식, 섭식 전 이동, 휴식 전 이동 순으로 높았으며 휴식 시간의 비율이 높아질수록 섭식 시간의 비율은 낮아졌다. 배추흰나비 애벌레는 다음 령으로 탈피하기 전에 섭식을 멈추고 움직임 없이 휴식을 취한다. 애벌레의 탈피를 위한 휴식은 약 9~18시간으로 인식하기 쉽기 때문에 애벌레의 령 구분 기준으로 제시할 수 있다. 탈피를 위한 휴식 전 머리 방향을 바꿔가며 휴식 위치 근처에서 8자처럼 움직이는 현상을 확인하였다. 탈피 직후 애벌레가 허물을 먹는 모습을 포착함으로써 애벌레의 성장을 위한 탈피 단계에서 허물을 관찰하기 어려웠던 이유로 허물 섭식을 추정할 수 있다. 배추흰나비 한살이 탐구 과정에서 교사와 학생에게 필요한 지식을 제공하고, 타임랩스를 활용한 관찰 방안을 제시하는 데 의의가 있다. In this study, using time lapse phothgraphy we recorded and analyzed behavior characteristics, instars and molting of cabbage white butterfly caterpollars. As a result of time-lapse analysis, cabbage white butterfly caterpillars showed cyclical behavioral sequences of pre-feeding moving, feeding, pre-resting moving, and resting, and tended to repeat similar feeding and resting positions. Regarding the time ratio by behavior, the resting was the highest regardless of instars, and the more the ratio of resting time increased, the more the ratio of feeding time decreased. Also, it was found that the cabbage white butterfly caterpillars moved in an eight-shape shape near the resting position while changing the direction of the head before resting for moulting. In addition, by confirming that the caterpillars eat molted skins immediately after moulting, it is difficult to observe the skins after the moulting for the growth of the larvae. It has significance in providing the necessary knowledge to teachers and students of the life cycle of the cabbage white butterfly and suggesting an observation method using time-lapse.

Novel D- and L-4´-thioadenosine derivatives lacking the 4´-hydroxymethyl moiety were synthesized, starting from D-mannose and D-gulonic γ-lactone, respectively, as potent and selective species-independent A₃ adenosine receptor (AR) antagonists. Among the novel 4´-truncated 2-H nucleosides tested, a N^(6)-(3-chlorobenzyl) derivative 7c was the most potent at the human A₃ AR (K_(i) = 1.5 nM), but a N^(6)-(3-bromobenzyl) derivative 7d showed the optimal species-independent binding affinity.
An information modeling framework for bridge monitoring

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Bridge management involves a variety of information from different data sources, including geometric model, analysis model, bridge management system (BMS) and structural health monitoring (SHM) system. Current practice of bridge management typically handles these diverse types of data using isolated systems and operates with limited use of the data. Sharing and integration of such information would facilitate meaningful use of the information and improve bridge management, as well as enhance bridge operation and maintenance and public safety. In many industries, information models and interoperability standards have been developed and employed to facilitate information sharing and collaboration. Given the success of building information modeling (BIM) in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, efforts have been initiated to develop frameworks and standards for bridge information modeling (BrIM). Current developments of BrIM focus primarily on the physical descriptions of bridge structures, such as geometry and material properties. This paper presents an information modeling framework for supporting bridge monitoring applications. The framework augments and extends the prior work on the OpenBrIM standards to further capture the information relevant to engineering analysis and sensor network. Implementation of the framework employs an open-source NoSQL database system for scalability, flexibility and performance. The framework is demonstrated using bridge information and sensor data collected from the Telegraph Road Bridge located in Monroe, Michigan.
