        Blunt Transection of the Entire Anterolateral Abdominal Wall Musculature Following Seatbelt- Related Injury

        Traumatic abdominal wall hernias (TAWHs) are uncommon and the incidence of this, which is rarely encountered in clinical practice, has been estimated at 1%. Furthermore, blunt transection of the entire abdominal wall musculature caused by seatbelt is a very rare complication. We report a case of adult with a complete disruption of the entire anterolateral abdominal wall muscle following the seatbelt injury. A 32-year-old male was wearing a seat belt in a high speed motor vehicle collision. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan revealed the complete disruption of bilateral abdominal wall musculatures including TAWH without visceral injury. However, injuries of small bowel and sigmoid colon were observed in the intra-operative field. The patient underwent the repair by primary closure of the defect with absorbable monofilament sutures. This case suggests that especially in TAWH patients, even if a CT scan is normal, clinicians should keep the possibility of bowel injury in mind, and choose a treatment based on the clinical findings.

        The Development Stages of Scuttle Fly

        Megaselia scalaris, also known as the scuttle fly, has a humpbacked morphology and was categorized as an insect undergoing complete metamorphosis. Megaselia scalaris was reported to be found in diverse environments. Recently, the scuttle fly has been a focus of studies by forensic scientists, geneticists, and developmental biologists. However, detailed research into scuttle fly development is still unclear. Therefore, the current study has been performed to elucidate the development of Megaselia scalaris. The scuttle fly undergoes four distinct stages of development: egg, larva, pupa and adult fly. After mating, the scuttle fly eggs hatch within one day and become larvae. The newly generated larvae go through 1, 2, and 3 instar stages within a period of 5~10 days. The instar stage 1 takes 1~2 days, instar stage 2 takes 1~2 days, and instar stage 3 takes 3~5 days. Depending on the environmental temperature, the pupae stage takes approximately 10~15 days to complete. The pupa stage can be divided into five sub-stages: 1~3 days, 4~6 days, 7~9 days, 10~12 days and 13~15 days. After molting, the newly formed adult scuttle fly can fly after one day. The morphological characteristics of the scuttle fly during each stage of development was detailed within this study.

        The Expression of Corazonin Neurons in Larvae Stage of Scuttle Fly

        Scuttle fly which moves abruptly after standing for a while and stop suddenly to rush off again, is a fly species in the Phoridae family. This species like rotten organic materials and it is known to proliferate even in the industrial materials including organic solvents. These characteristic behaviors of the scuttle fly seem to be related to muscular and nervous system or neurotransmitters. Thus, we focused at the neurotransmitter, corazonin (Crz) that is known to be related to resistance to stress and investigated the developmental process of the neurons in the scuttle fly. Corazonin is a neuropeptide being expressed in the central nervous system (CNS) and is known to control mainly physiological functions and behaviors. Its many functions that have been proposed are still in controversy. In this studies, we found that there are three groups of corazoninergic neurons in the larval CNS of the scuttle fly and these neurons undergo distinguishable changes through metamorphic process compared to different fly species. Larva has 3 pairs of Crz neurons at the dorsolateral area of the brain, 1 pair at the dorsomedial brain and 8 pairs at the ventral nerve cord.

        국민참여재판에 관한 논의 -국민참여재판 판례를 중심으로-

        사법절차에서 시민참여를 통해 절차의 공정성을 담보하기 위해 시작된 국민참여재판은 절차의 민주성 증대와 시민들의 신뢰를 확보하고 실체적 진실발견이라는 목적을 위해 시작되었다. 그러나 이러한 긍정적인 목표와는 달리 국민참여재판은 배심원 평결에 대한 신뢰성 문제, 불공정한 배심원 선정, 시간적・경제적 비용 증대, 배심원 평결의 기속력 문제 등 다양한 사항 들이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 그러나 국민참여재판은 사법에 대한 민주적 정당성과 시민들의 신뢰 촉진이라는 긍정적 부 분을 포함하고 있음을 무시할 수 없다. 그리고 실체적 진실발견과 시간적・경제적 비용증대 등 은 국민참여재판의 진행을 통해 해결해야할 문제들이다. 하지만 소위 ‘전관예우’, ‘유전무죄・무전유죄’의 문제는 국민참여재판에서 발생할 여지가 없어 긍정적인 평가를 받고 있다. 또한 배 심원 평결의 신뢰성과 배심원 선정의 불공정성에 대한 우려는 추첨이라는 우연성을 통해 극복 해 나갈 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 현재 국민참여재판 시행상의 가장 큰 문제점은 낮은 접수율과 높은 철회율 및 배제율에 있다. 또한 지나치게 높은 항소율과 함께 배심원 평결의 권고적 효력은 국민참여재판의 실효성 문제에 대해 회의적인 평가를 받는 부분이다. 따라서 본 논문은 국민참여재판이 실시된 이후 진행된 판례를 바탕으로 국민참여재판의 시행이후의 문제점을 도출하고 그에 대한 해결방안을 모색하는데 초점을 두려고 한다. The Civil Participation in Criminal Jury Trial that people firstly participate in criminal trial in history of Korea starts With expectation for securing the truth-finding of the process and for strengthening of the democratic legitimacy and the confidence of general people about criminal justice. But, there are concerns as the credibility of jury verdict, the unfair selection of juror, the increase of expense, the non-binding nature of the verdicts. We should watch the development of the Civil Participation in Criminal Jury Trial about the truth-finding of the process, the strengthening of the democratic legitimacy and the confidence of general people about criminal justice and the increase of expense. But, it is positive that ‘the Privileges of Former Post’ and ‘All mighty is the dollar’ do not exist in the Civil Participation in Criminal Jury Trial. Concerns for the credibility of juror verdict and the unfair selection of juror proved to be unfounded. But the biggest problems are low-end receipt ratio and a high withdrawal and exclusion ratio. Due to high appeal ratio and advice effect of jury verdict, the effectiveness of the Civil Participation in Criminal Jury Trial is being intensively criticized. The passive participation is discussed with directly-opposed judging the attendance rate of juror. To improve these problems, this study focuses on finding out the problems based on precedents after civil participation in criminal jury, and the solution plans about found problems.

        소우 후지모토 건축과 베르나르 추미의 건축에 나타난 사이공간(In-between space)개념에 대한 비교 연구

        Aldo Van Eyck and Herman Hertzberger explained `in-between space` as intermediate space between opposite elements such as whole and parts, inside and outside, open and close, central and decentral. From this idea, the meaning of `in-between space` has developed and applied to work of Bernard Tschumi and Sou Fujimoto. In this study, the meaning of `in-between space` was compared and analyzed based on two architects` works to reveal the design approach in terms of `in-between space` Final Wooden House, N House, and Serpentine Gallery Pavilion among Sou Fujimoto`s work were selected and Le Fresnoy, Lerner Student Center, and Acropolis Museum among Bernard Tschumi`s work were selected to analyze. To understand their design approach, their works were compared and analyzed in architectural attitude, tools, construction style and the approach, concept, theme, relation, direction of in-between space` as a nebulous approach as intermediate space between opposite elements. For Bernard Tschumi, `in-between space` is also an intermediate space to emphasize and make a tension between opposite elements. It is a method of solving the contradiction condition between old city environment and new architecture.

        In the era of sustainability and eco-friendly design, role of designer is no longer limited to create. We have been talking about recycling of materials in recent years but when interior space is demolished, only small amount of material have been reused. It is time to think about how abandoned material can be disappear without giving any harm to our environment. In this view point, food became our major concern as material. rice consumption is decreasing in Korea and industrial method of using rice became social interest. research area was divided to two parts. first part was to research about material property of rice plastic. in this part, various coating and mixing experiment were done and second part was to study and design the possibility of rice plastic as industrial products. in this part, rice brick, rice tray, and spacial application(rusty window and edible light) were experimented. this study was basic research and design about rice plastic. so, the method of using rice plastic to produce industrial object is more important subject than the scientific analyze of material property.
