본 논문은 결혼의 개혁에 관한 루터의 견해, 결혼을 언약으로 이해 하는 불링거의 견해, 그리고 칼빈의 결혼과 가정에서의 삶을 다룬다. 루터의 은혜의 신학이 결혼의 개혁을 가져왔다. 이 주제에 관한 그의 글들에서 루터는 결혼과 남편과 아내의 관계에 대한 평가를 제시하였 다. 에라스무스가 편집한 헬라어 신약 성경에서 루터는 성경이 결혼을 성례로 말하지 않는다는 것을 배웠다. 루터는 결혼을 신적으로 정초된 규례로 이해한다. 루터 이후의 종교개혁자들은 이 새로운 결혼 신학의 기초위에서 계속해서 이를 세워나갔다. 하인리히 불링거는 결혼의 개념을 남편과 아내 사이의 언약으로서 발전시켰다. 결혼은 그리스도와 신자 사이의 관계에 대한 이미지에 해당된다. 따라서 본질적인 것은 사랑과 헌신이라는 내적 관계이다. 요한 칼빈은 결혼을 교회 내의 교회로 간주한다. 부모는 자녀들에게 하나님과의 언약이 무엇을 뜻하는가를 가르쳐야 한다. 자녀들이 교회와 공동체의 삶에 참여하는 구성원이 되도록 성장하기 위해서, 그들은 질서를 지닌 가정에서 양육받아야 하며 또한 자신들의 기독교 결혼을 위해서 준비되 어야 할 필요성이 제기된다 This article deals with the views of Luther (the reformation of marriage), Bullinger (marriage as covenant) and Calvin (marriage and family life). Luther’s theology of grace re-sulted in a reformation of marriage. In his treatises on this topic he presented a reappraisal of marriage and of the relation between husband and wife. From Erasmus’ edition of the Greek New Testament Luther learned that the Bible does not speak about marriage as a sacrament. Luther establishes marriage as a divinely-willed ordinance. Reformers after Luther continued to build on the basis of this new theology of marriage. Heinrich Bullinger developed the idea of marriage as a covenant between husband and wife. Marriage is an image of the relation between Christ and the believer. Essential is thus the inner relation of love and commitment. John Calvin sees marriage as a church within the church. Parents should teach their children what it means to be in a covenant with God. For children to grow up to be participants in the life of the church and the community, they need to be brought up in an ordered family and they also need to be prepared for their own Christian marriage.
