The accumulation (internal and superficial distribution) of magnesium ions (Mg(2+)) by the green freshwater microalga Chlorella vulgaris (C. vulgaris) was investigated under autotrophic culture in a stirred photobioreactor. The concentrations of the three forms of Mg(2+) (dissolved, extracellular, and intracellular) were determined with atomic absorption spectroscopy during the course of C. vulgaris growth. The proportions of adsorbed (extracellular) and absorbed (intracellular) Mg(2+) were quantified. The concentration of the most important pigment in algal cells, chlorophyll a, increased over time in proportion to the increase in the biomass concentration, indicating a constant chlorophyll/biomass ratio during the linear growth phase. The mean-average rate of Mg(2+) uptake by C. vulgaris grown in a culture medium starting with 16 mg/l of Mg(2+) concentration was measured. A clear relationship between the biomass concentration and the proportion of the Mg(2+) removal from the medium was observed. Of the total Mg(2+) present in the culture medium, 18% was adsorbed on the cell wall and 51% was absorbed by the biomass by the end of the experiment (765 h). Overall, 69% of the initial Mg(2+) were found to be removed from the medium. This study supported the kinetic model based on a reversible first-order reaction for Mg(2+) bioaccumulation in C. vulgaris, which was consistent with the experimental data.
Data Analysis of Coronavirus CoVID-19: Study of Spread and Vaccination in European Countries
Hela Turki,Kais Khrouf International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2024 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.24 No.1
Humanity has gone since a long time through several pandemics; we cite H1N1 in 2009 and also Spanish flu in 1917. In December 2019, the health authorities of China detected unexplained cases of pneumonia. The WHO (World Health Organization) has declared the apparition of Covid-19 (novel Coronavirus). In data analysis, multiple approaches and diverse techniques were used to extract useful information from multiple heterogeneous sources and to discover knowledge and new information for decision-making. In this paper, we propose a multidimensional model for analyzing the Coronavirus Covid-19 data (spread and vaccination in European countries).
Kallel Hela,Salah Ben Hamad,Mohamed Triki 중앙대학교 경제연구소 2021 Journal of Economic Development Vol.46 No.2
The present paper examines whether the home and host countries’ institutional quality explains the efficiency differences between the domestic and foreign banks operating in developing countries. The findings indicate a positive effect of foreign ownership on bank efficiency. More specifically, the efficiency differences, between domestic and foreign banks, do not depend on the host country’s institutional quality. However, the home country’s institutional quality improves the foreign banks’ efficiency remarkably. In order to test the robustness of our findings, dynamic panel data models have been administered. The results are convergent and the GMM estimator outlines a strong persistence of banks’ inefficiency.

CEO Characteristics and Firm Performance: A Study of Saudi Arabia Listed Firms
Wafa GHARDALLOU,Hela BORGI,Hibah ALKHALIFAH 한국유통과학회 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.11
This paper aims to investigate the impact of chief executive officer’s (CEO) attributes on firms’ performance. Specifically, it examines the influence of CEOs’ education, professional experience, and tenure on Saudi firms’ performance. We look at a sample of 120 listed firms on Tadawul stock exchange from 2014 to 2017. Data on financial and accounting variables are obtained from the annual reports of the selected companies. We follow the existing empirical literature and use a panel model and formulate three different equations using the GMM estimator. Findings prove that CEO educational background does matter. In particular, companies employing CEOs with business administration, economics, finance, or accounting degree will perform outstandingly better. Similarly, stock performance gets improved when the CEO has a postgraduate qualification, i.e., when the CEO holds an MBA, a master, or a PhD degree. Besides, results reveal that executives who have an experience in a related field will positively affect the firm’s performance. Finally, evidence shows that high CEOs tenure improves corporate performance. Overall, these findings demonstrate that executives’ attributes are key factors that would explain differences in Saudi firms’ performance. These results would help shareholders to make the right decision in selecting CEOs to manage the company.
Intestinal duplication revealed by posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome
Yosra Kerkeni,Hela Louati,Mourad Hamzaoui 대한소아청소년과학회 2018 Clinical and Experimental Pediatrics (CEP) Vol.61 No.4
We report a unique case of intestinal duplication detected on posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) in a 13-year-old girl. She was admitted to the pediatric Emergency Department because of generalized seizures. Radiological assessment revealed a large, well-defined, thick-walled cystic lesion in the mid abdomen, suggestive of duplication cyst associated to a PRES. Exploration confirmed the diagnosis of ileal duplication cyst, and the mass was resected. The postoperative course was uneventful. Both hypertension and neurological dysfunction resolved after the mass resection. A followup brain magnetic resonance imaging was performed 9 months later and showed complete resolution of the cerebellar changes. Although extrinsic compression of the retroperitoneal structures has not been reported in the literature as a complication of duplication cyst, we strongly believe that this is the most logical and plausible hypothesis that would explain the pathogenesis of PRES in our patient.

Generic Multidimensional Model of Complex Data: Design and Implementation
Khrouf, Kais,Turki, Hela International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2021 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.21 No.12
The use of data analysis on large volumes of data constitutes a challenge for deducting knowledge and new information. Data can be heterogeneous and complex: Semi-structured data (Example: XML), Data from social networks (Example: Tweets) and Factual data (Example: Spreading of Covid-19). In this paper, we propose a generic multidimensional model in order to analyze complex data, according to several dimensions.
