At the porous $La_{0.6}Ca_{0.4}MnO_{3-{\delta}}$(LCM)/YSZ electrodes of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), the electrochemical redox reaction of oxygen proceeds via the triple boundary (TPB) of gas/LCM/YSZ. The surface diffusion of adsorbed oxygen on LCM has been proposed as the rate determining process, assuming the gradient of oxygen chemical potential from the outer surface of porous layer to TPB. Along with the formation of this gradient, oxygen nonstoichiometry in the bulk of LCM may varies. In this paper, an electrochemical technique was described precisely to determine the variation of oxygen content in LCM of porous LCM/YSZ under polarization. It was shown that the oxygen potential in LCM layer under large cathodic polarization is much lower than that in the gas phase, being determined from the electrode potential and Nernst equation.
A Study on Ferro Fluid Dynamic Bearing Spindel Characteristics by High Frequency Vibration Ssystem

Ball bearings (BB) are generally used in spindles of disk drives at present, but they have been known that BB generate high frequency vibration. Fluid dynamic bearings (FDB) having high-rotational accuracy and small vibration characteristics have been developed as next generation spindles. Especially, a ferro fluid bearing (FFB) spindle has the advantage to prevent leakage and dispersion of lubricating oil using a ferro seal. In this study, we measured damping characteristics and frequency characteristics of these bearing spindles using a high-frequency vibration base. High frequency excitation was added to these bearing spindles mounted on the vibration base, and we proved that FFB and FDB spindles have effective damping..
PID Optimization Tuning and Reduction of Calculation Time based on Maximum Sensitivity

This paper presents one parameter tuning of PID parameters considering the trade off problem of load disturbance and robustness. And its reduction method for computer calculation is also proposed in this paper. One parameter PID tuning method has been proposed by using maximum sensitivity. PID parameters are calculated by using geometric relationship between circle Ms and L(jw). Several PID parameters are calculated considering the non-convex optimization problem of assessment function. For the performance of disturbance vs robustness, PID parameters are optimized by using integrated absolute error. However, the optimization time is long. Therefore, this paper presents a method to reduce the search range by geometric relationship. Calculation benchmark result shows that the proposed method is effective.
