Syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SCAP) is a benign adnexal tumor, thought to have derived from either apocrine or eccrine gland. The term tubulopapillary hidradenoma (TPH) represents a spectrum of lesions that includes tubular apocrine adenoma and papillary eccrine adenoma, and these are also closely related to SCAP. A 68-year-old female with medical history of diabetes mellitus, hypertension came to our clinic complaining of a 2x1cm-sized erythematous dome-shaped nodule on the anterior chest for several months. Microscopic examination showed the proliferation of apocrine ductal and glandular epithelium, lined with a double layer epithelium composed of basilar cuboidal cells and an inner columnar layer of eosinophilic secretory cells and numerous tubules in dermis, with apocrine decapitation secretion and plasma cell infiltration. From such histopathologic findings, a diagnosis of SCAP mixed with TPH was made. The lesion was surgically excised with clear resection margin. We report an unusual case of a SCAP co-existing with a TPH.

Nivolumab is a fully-humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that competitively binds to the programmed cell death receptor-1 protein (an immune check-point molecule) present on activated T cells. Nivolumab is approved for the treatment of advanced melanoma, lung cancer, and renal cell carcinoma. It attenuates the inactivation of cytotoxic CD8+ T cells and, produces an antitumor effect; however it may be associated with immune-related adverse events, including the development of lichen planus (LP). A 72-year-old man presented with a 2-month history of multiple, polygonal, purplish papules on the dorsal aspect of both hands. He was diagnosed with large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) of the lung 4 years earlier and was treated with nivolumab (3 mg/kg every 2 weeks) for 9 months. By the 14th course of nivolumab therapy, the patient developed multiple rashes on the dorsal aspect of both hands, and biopsy was consistent with findings of LP. We report a rare case of LP in a patient with lung cancer treated with nivolumab. (Korean J Dermatol 2019;57(9):551∼555)
Increased Gene Expression in Cultured BEAS-2B Cells Treated with Metal Oxide Nanoparticles
Eun-Jung Park,Kwangsik Park 한국독성학회 2009 Toxicological Research Vol.25 No.4
Recent publications showed that metal nanoparticles which are made from TiO₂, CeO₂, Al₂O₃, CuCl₂, AgNO₃ and ZnO₂ induced oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory effects in cultured cells and the responses seemed to be common toxic pathway of metal nanoparticles to the ultimate toxicity in animals as well as cellular level. In this study, we compared the gene expression induced by two different types of metal oxide nanoparticles, titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TNP) and cerium dioxide nanoparticles (CNP) using microarray analysis. About 50 genes including interleukin 6, interleukin 1, platelet-derived growth factor β, and leukemia inhibitory factor were induced in cultured BEAS-2B cells treated with TNP 40 ppm. When we compared the induction levels of genes in TNP-treated cells to those in CNP-treated cells, the induction levels were very correlated in various gene categories (r = 0.645). This may suggest a possible common toxic mechanism of metal oxide nanoparticles.
