An efficient application of computational models for trimmed body development in a vehicle development process, considering the characteristics of computational models and design concerns in each development stage, will be proposed. The conventional approach using full finite element models have been applied to make a design and pre-validation for interior noise. From stage to stage, however, it is different for designer to make a concern, and to make a decision which is depend on development stages. So, it is necessary to study efficient applications of computational models according to design stages. An analysis using QFD(Quality Function Deployment) is carried out to compute and compare the effectiveness of three kinds of models. A new application with the best combination of models through the whole process is proposed. This proposed one consists of the FEM substructure synthesis model(FEM+FEM) at the design stage, the hybrid one(FEM+Test) at the proto-validation stage and the test based one(Test+Test) at the pilot-validation stage. According to the result of QFD, it is 1.49 times more efficient to use the new application than the conventional one. Finally, three experiences are introduced in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed application.
