        The purpose of this study is to investigate the chemical quality and characteristics of groundwater in the area of Taejon university, and to suggest long-term strategy for groundwater management. The geology in the study area is mainly composed of Jurassic biotite granite and schistose granite, and phyllite and shistose phyllite of Okcheon system. All groundwater samples except one sample were classified into Ca-HCO3 type in chemical composition, and showed the hardness ranging from moderately hard to hard. The pH of groundwater showed weak acidic and neutral conditions. The results of factor analysis of hydrochemical data indicated that major chemical constituents of groundwater were derived by three main factors: the contribution of two different water-rock interaction processes and the effect of contamination. A part of groundwater samples showed a little high iron and nitrate content, which were likely to be influenced by contamination sources. The environmental assessment of groundwater hydrology and regular monitoring work should be carried out to maintain high quality and plentiful quantity of groundwater in Taejon University.

      • 38세 남자환자에서 발생한 만발성 림프부종 1예

        Primary lymphedema tarda is considered to be a congenital disease with delayed manifestations. The cause is unknown; an autoimmune destruction of lymphatic channels can be hypothesized. We report a case of isolated lymphedema of the left lower extremity in a 38-year-old male. The diagnosis of lymphedema was confirmed by lymphoscintigraphy and appropriate diagnostic studies were done to rule out other known causes of limb edema. We report a rare case of primary lymphedema tarda of the left lower extremity.

      • RLS알고리즘에 의한 MLSE의 채널추정과 등화특성

        멀티패스 페이팅 채널에서는 ISI라고 하는 시호간 간섭에 의해 선형 또는 비선형 왜곡이 일어나게 되며 이러한 왜곡된 신호를 보상하기 위한 여러 가지 등화기와 적응 알고리즘이 소개되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 멀티패스 채널에 있어서 신호왜곡의 보상방법으로서 MLSE 등화 알고리즘에서 비터비디코더의 브랜치 매트릭법의 적용방법에 따른 채널추정과 등화기의 등화 특성을 비교, 분석하였다. MLSE 알고리즘에 채용한 자승매트릭법은 non-minimum phase channel에서와 같이 열악한 채널에서 특별한 등화특성을 보인다. Intersymbol interference(ISI) are occured linearly or nonlinearly in the multipath channel and the received signals are distorted, so a variety of equalizers and algorithms are used to compensate the distorted signal in the receiver. In this paper, to compensate the distorted signal through the multipath channel, we investigate the performance characteristics of MLSE algorithm with RLS for channel estimation and equalization with branch metric(BM) methods for Viterbi decoding. The performance charactristics of MLSE algorithm with squared metric show excellent results especially for the non-minimum phase channel.

      • 수산화마그네슘에 의한 배연탈황에 관한 연구

        This study has been carried out to evaluate the effect on desulfurization of flue gas by Mg(OH)₂in steam-power cogeneration plant. We investigated the effects of desulfurizatin on the temperature of flue gas and pH of circulation water in aborber. The desulfurization installations of flue gas in cogeneration and thermoelectric power plant will be increased every year because of stricted environmental regulation in Korea. Some conclusions obtained are summerized as follows ; 1. With regard to running cost, Mg(OH)₂ absorbent for desulfurization of flue gas snowed more economic than Ca(OH)₂. 2. While bunker-C oil with 1.6% sulfur was used, desulfurization of flue gas by Mg(OH)₂ was performed and then SO₂ content in the exhausted gas was under 50 ppm. 3. In flue gas desulfurization, the optimum condition on the temperature and pH was 55-60℃ and 6 respectively, then efficiency was 96%.

        강원지역에서 산출되는 탄산천의 수리화학 및 생성환경

        강원지역에서 산출되는 탄산천의 수리화학적 특성과 모암과의 관계, 그리고 생성기원에 대해서 해석하고자 하였다. 이 연구에서는 기존의 연구결과에 대한 재해석도 포함되어 있다. 강원지역의 13개 지역에서 탄산수 시료를 채취하였다. 탄산수의 수리화학적 특성을 보면 Pco₂는 0.787∼4.78 atm 범위의 높은 값을 보이고, 약산성 pH, 높은 전기전도도값(422∼2,280 ㎲/㎝)의 특성을 보인다. 탄산수의 화학적 유형은 Ca-HCO₃형, Na-HCO₃형, Ca(Na)-HCO₃형으로 구분된다. 아울러 강원지역 탄산수의 다량의 철과 불소를 함유하는 것이 특징이다. 탄산수의 화학적 성분과 모암의 화학분석 자료를 종합하면 Na-HCO₃형의 탄산수는 설악산일대 흑운모-칼리장석 화강암의 영향을 Ca-HCO₃형의 탄산수는 편마암과 화강남내 방해석등에 영향을 받는 것으로 보인다. 암석내 Na, K, Ca, Mg 함량과 탄산수내 그들의 함량과의 관계가 비례함이 이를 뒷받침한다. 불소는 Na-HCO₃형의 탄산수에서 높은 값을 보이고 철 성분은 Ca-HCO₃형의 탄산수에서 더 높은 함량을 보인다. 불소는 흑운모(흑은 복운모)화강암내 운모의 OH를 치환한 F성분의 용해에 의한 것으로 해석된다. 동위원소와 암석 성분 자료를 근거로 볼 때 모암의 광물화학성분이 탄산수의 화학적 유형을 결정한 것으로 보인다. 이를 확실히 뒷받침하기 위해서는 암종별 현미경적 관찰과 광물에 대한 화학성분 분석이 추가적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다. 탄산수의 δD과 δ^(18)O 값은 순환수선에 도시되며, δ^(13)C 값이 -0.3∼-6.2‰ PDB 범위를 보여 국내 다른 지역 탄산수와 거의 유사한 범위를 보인다. 탄산수는 지하 심부의 CO₂가스가 지표부로 상승하면서 순환하는 지하수와 혼합된 후 반응하는 모암에 따라서 다양한 화학적 유형의 탄산수가 생성된 것으로 해석된다. The purposes of this study are to investigate the occurrence, the hydrochemical characteristics and the origin of the CO₂-rich springs from the Kangwon Province, and to reanalyze the previous studied results of other researchers. The CO₂-rich water samples were collected at 13 locations in the Kangwon Province. The CO₂-rich water shows a high CO₂ concentration (P_(CO₂) 0.787 to 4.78 atm), weak acidic pHs, electrical conductivity values ranging from 422 to 2,280 μS/㎝, and high Fe and F contents. The chemical compositions of CO₂-rich water from this study area are classified into three types; Ca-HCO₃, Ca(Na)-HCO₃, Na-HCO₃ types. The chemical data of CO₂-rich waters and their host rocks indicate that Na-HC03 type water are mainly influenced by biotite, K-feldspar granite, and Ca(Na)-HCO₃, type water is chiefly influenced by gneiss and carbonate minerals in granite. F and Fe contents of Coprich waters are. abundant in Na-HCO₃, and Ca-HCO₃ types, respectively. The results of this study suggest that the chemical composition CO₂-rich water is mainly controlled by the mineralogical composition of aquifer host rocks. Oxygen and deuterium isotope data indicate that CO₂-rich water is meteoric origin. The δ^(13)C values (-0.3% to -6.2% PDB) suggest that dissolved carbonates are mainly derived from a deep-seated CO₂ and partly from carbonate minerals.

      • 삼차신경 손상환자에서 삼차신경 체성감각 유발전위의 유용성 : 증례보고 Case Report

        We studied brainstem auditory evoked potential(BAEP), blink reflex, and trigeminal somatosensory evoked potential(SSEP) on 30-years old man with trigeminal nerve injury due to cerebellopontine angle tumor which had been identified by cranial operation. We report this case for evaluation of their usefulness. The patient complained a numbness on Rt. face for several days. On visit to our department, there are intact on his mentality and normal except decreased sensation and tingling sensation on Rt trigeminal innervated territory in cranial nerve examination. The upper motor neuron signs were not observed. MRI picture revealed multilobulated cystic mass at the right CP angle measured 4×7 cm, which compress the right temporal lobe, midbrain, and right cerebellum. We consider that BAEP and Blink reflex studies were identified as useful screening test for evaluation of trigeminal nerve injury patient, but trigeminal SSEP was not in our case studies and we report a case with review of the articles.

      • 안와 내벽 외향 골절의 내시경적 비내 재건술

        The orbital blowout fracture occurs when a convex object(usually a baseball and a fist) larger in diameter than orbital rim strikes the orbit, increasing intraorbital pressure and producing hydraulic forces in all directions, which explodes the bony margin. The most frequently site of fracture is the bony floor in the region of the infraorbital canal, less frequently medial orbital wall, that is, lamina papyracea. Medial orbital wall fractures are also seen with other types of facial fractures such as frontal, nasoethmoid, and maxillary injuries. With the advent of nasal endoscope, endoscopic intranasal reconstruction has substituted for external approach. We experienced a case of blowout fracture of left medial orbital wall, which was treated with endoscopic intranasal reconstruction method and report this case with the review of the literature.

      • 철근콘크리트 연속보에서 부분프리스트레스 도입에 의한 휨보강 효과에 관한 연구

        A strengthening technique for reinforced concrete beams using external unbonded reinforcement offers advantages in speed and simplicity of installation over other, established, strengthening techniques. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the capabilities of a new retrofitting technique, namely external prestressing(Bow), for flexural strengthening of beams. The paper provides a general description of structural behavior of beams strengthened using the technique. Results of 2 physical tests on strengthened reinforced concrete continuous beams are reported and compared. It is shown that the technique can provide greater strength enhancement to lightly reinforced sections and that provision of deflectors enhances efficiency.
