In the past few years the use of four fluoroquinolones such as of ofloxacin(OF), norfloxacin(NORE), ciprofloxacin(CIP), enrofloxacin(ENR) in veterinary practice has increased. The aim of this study was to determine the elimination of fluoroquinolones into eggs, by intramuscular injection of laying hens(2.5mg of ENR/kg, 5mg of CIP/kg, 5mg of NOR/kg, 5mg of OF/kg). The treatment of fluoroquinolones was carried out in 3 stages with 9 laying hens (Isabrown), with mean weight 1.8kg, which were housed in individual cages. Four fluoroquinolones were administered to 9 laying hens through intramuscular injection at 1 day, 2 days, 5 days trial respectively. Sample (Albumen, Yolk, Whole egg) were analysed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with a fluorescence programmable detector and matrix solid phase despersion (MSPD) extraction. Residues of fluoroquinolones were much higher in the yolk than in the albumen. Detectable residues persisted for 12 days, 14 days, 16 days, respectively, in albumen and yolk after the injection was discontinued. The increase of the fluoroquinolones concentration in yolk was very rapid and reached a plateau after 3 days of dosing. In albumen, the fluoroquinolones concentration increased during intramuscular injection. As soon as the injection was discontinued, residues decreased in the albumen and the yolk.

A multi-residue matrix solid-phase dispersion extraction and the liquid chromatographic determination of enrofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin and ofloxacin in eggs is described. Blank and fluoroquinolones fortified egg samples (0.5 g) containing oxalic acid 0.05 g and sodium sulfate (anhydrose) 0.5 g were blended with octadecylsilyl (C_(18), 40 m, 18% load, endcapped, 2 g) derived from silica. After homogenization, C_(18)/egg matrix was transferred to column made of 10 ml plastic syringe and filter paper, and compressed 4.0 4.5 ml volume. A column was washed with 8 ml of hexane followed by 8 ml of ethylacetate and dried under N2 gas. Fluoroquinolones were eluated with 8 ml of methanol under gravity. The eluate contained fluoroquinolones, was free from interferences when analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. Correlation coefficients for the fluoroquinolones standard curves (linear regression analysis, n = 5) ranged from 0.99918 (± 0.0035) to 0.99985 (± 0.0002). Aveage recoveries of fortified samples were between 89.4 and 103.5%. The method comparared favorably with the classical method in terms of the sample size, analysis time and overalls costs.

In the coprolites of 4 recently discovered Joseon mummies of Korea, we found Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Metagonimus yokogawai, Paragonimus westermani, and Clonorchis sinensis eggs. The current finding was compared with previous paleoparasitological data, and with recent national survey data from Korea. For A. lumbricoides and T. trichiura, similar patterns of infection prevalence were observed between the national survey of 1961 and our current Joseon data. Some of the trematode species (C.sinenesis and P. westermani) showed much higher infection prevalences among the Joseon Koreans than among their 1960s descendants. The present results indicate that the decrease in trematode infection rates might have begun earlier than was the case for nematode infection.

The purpose of this research is to seek for efficient health maintenance device and to suggest desirable daily habit, based on the inquiry on interrelationship between workers’ daily lives and their heartbeat change level. The paper survey about general features, case history and daily habits was conducted on workers during medical examination in Jeollabukdo, and examined their change of heartbeat as well. The results of research deducted from data analysis are as follows; 1. There found very positive interrelations between time-domain analysis and frequency-domain analysis, and MHR and LF/HF ratio had negative connection with other analyses. 2. The recipient showed high time-domain analysis when they are younger, have worked shorter or have spouse, and it contributes to stable sympathetic nerve and parasympathetic nerve as it stimulates autonomic nervous system. 3. According to the result of frequency-domain analysis, recipients showed higher TP and LF when they are younger, and the highest HF when they are under 34.The level of VLF was higher for university graduates than the ones who finished high school. The recipients showed higher TP and HF when they don’t have spouse, and lower TP, LF and HF when they have worked longer. 4. The level of RMSSD and TSRD was high for the people who don’t have case history, and HF was high when they don’t have any disease in progress. 5. According to the result concerning correlation of daily habits with time-domain analysis and frequency-domain analysis, cigarette, alcohol and sleeping hours don’t affect heartbeat change, but the ones who regularly workout showed higher result in every analysis. It shows that the autonomic nervous system of recipients who regularly exercise response more actively. The result mentioned above suggests that the change of heartbeat is a direct index which shows the change of autonomic nervous system, and it depends on the exercise the most. Thus, workout is proved to be the best method in order for workers to take care of their health.

<P>In paleoparasitology, which is the study of ancient parasite species, parasite egg remnants in archaeological samples are examined by microscopic or molecular analysis. The parasitological information thus obtained can inform speculation about the parasite-infection patterns that prevailed in ancient societies. The current analysis of ancient feces removed from Joseon period mummies adds six new paleoparasitological outcomes to the existing pool of mummy parasitism data already maintained in South Korea. The current microscopic examination revealed the ancient parasite eggs of Trichuris, Clonorchis,Paragonimus,Ascaris, and Taenia in the Joseon mummy feces. When the updated Joseon data were compared with the 20th-century National Survey statistics of South Korea, clear differences could be observed between ancient and modern parasite infection rates. These results will yield invaluable insights unobtainable by conventional historical investigation that contribute to the knowledge base on the parasitism of pre-industrial East Asian societies.</P>
Porting A Client Agent For Pitch Estimation and Noise Suppression To An Embedded Multi Processor

This paper is to implement contents based music retrieval method on the embedded digital signal processor (DSP) chipset. This method is basically Query by Humming and Singing (QbSH) with polyphonic music signal. The client has to extract the feature and suppress the noise from user humming signal recorded with input device. Noise suppression algorithm makes merge of Minimum Statistics (MS) for stationary noise and Improved Minima Controlled Recursive Averaging (IMCRA) for non¬stationary noise, and the feature is estimated with temporal and spectral autocorrelation simultaneously to reduce the pitch having and doubling problem. We develop the prototypes of clients for three different platforms like computer, smart phone/pad and KARAOKE. The client part of this system is ported on the DSP chipset which is the TI OMAP processor named L138 including C674x core up to 300㎒ clock cycle for DSP part and ARM-9 core up to 600㎒ clock cycle.
