In this paper, digitally controlled electronic ballast for the HID lamps driven by proposed frequency conversion method is described. This electronic ballast consists of a buck converter, a low frequency square wave full bridge inverter, a high voltage pulse generator for the lamp ignition, an over current protection circuit and an 8-bit microcontroller. The fuzzy logic digital control operation is carried out by the 8-bit microcontroller. In spite of the limited control bandwidth caused by low operation speed of the 8-bit microcontroller, the good control performance for the constant lamp current in the warm-up period is obtained using the proposed frequency conversion driving method. The HID lamp is controlled in a constant current mode during the lighting warm up process and is controlled in a constant power mode during lighting steady state. A controlled variable power mode is used to extend the lamp lifetime.

The authors would examine whether clonidine is an adequate supplementary anesthetic when it is used with ropivacaine during epidural ane-sthesia. Methods: Thirty-two healthy patients undergoing a hip or lower limb surgery were diveded into two groups. In group 1, 0.5% ropivacaine 15 ml was administered. In group 2, 0.5% ropivacaine 15 ml combined with clonidine 150 ㎍ was administered. Onset, duration and maximal height of sensory block were assessed. Sedation score, blood pressure and heart rate were measured. Results: Duration of sensory block of group 2 was significantly longer than that of group 1. Sedation score of group 2 was significantly higher than that of group 1. Blood pressure of group 2 was sig-nificantly lower thatn that of group 1 at 50 min, 70 min and 90 min after epidural injection. No significant differences were observed in onset of sensory block and heart rate between the two groups. Conclusions: The addition of clonidine to ropivacaine during epidural anesthesia prolonged duration of sensory block and produced useful sedation. It caused relatively stable hemodynamic changes. These results suggest that clonidine is an adequate supplementary anesthetic when it is used with ropivacaine during epidural anesthesia. (Korean J Anesthesiol 2001; 41: 428~433)

This paper attempts to review and trace back to, based on the data collected during visits of Japanese universities and research institutes, the organizational characteristics, the structures of curricula and study trends, with regard to the fields of social sciences, especially economics and business administration. One of the most conspicuous characteristics observed in academic organizations was Tsukuba university's system whose academic institution was organized around academic grouping, academic genealogy, and specialty: particularly social economic planning belonged to the genealogy of social engineering, in light of its characteristics in term of curriculum, seems to meet the contemporary need. There found two speciality areas in the Department of Social Engineering at the Graduate School: one is the concentration on Mathematical Planning and the other Management Engineering. Considering that its academic goal is tosys tematically and empirically analyze the human behaviors, and to take interdi-sci plinary approach through a policy-oriented system in doing so, it reflects one of the true natures of the academic trend. Their curricula appear to emphasize on analytical methods under uncertainty, application of mathematical planning techniques, system simulation, and information system design and its application, in the area of economics and business administration. Physical education is believed to require modernized facilities and equipments for its record-breaking and technical enhancement, and so increased investment in physical facilities and policy considerations for the training of physical educators are necessary.

Chemical Lumbar Sympathetic Block: Comparison of One- Versus Two-needle Techniques Chul-Jun Mun, M.D., Kyu-Jong Lee, M.D., Sang-Gon Lee, M.D., Jong-Il Kim, M.D.^* Jong-Suk Ban, M.D., and Byung-Woo Min, M.D. Department of Anesthesiology, Fatima Hospital, Daegu, Korea ^*Kim Jong Il Pain Clinic, Daegu, Korea Background: It was frequently noticed in the course of performing a two-needle sympathectomy, that satisfactory spread of contrast solution could be produced by injection through only one of the needles. This led to a closer examination of the merits of single-needle technique. Methods: Forty patients were randomized into two groups. Patients in the single-needle group (n = 20) were injected at the second or third lumbar sympathetic ganglia, while patients in the two-needle group (n = 20) were injected at the second and thired lumbar sympathetic ganglia. Lumbar sympathetic blocks were performed using 3 ml of alcohol and the spread of injectate was verified with C-arm fluoroscopy. The indicators of a successful sympathetic block are increasing skin temperature, decreasing pain, and anhidrosis in the distal extremity. Results: The duration of anhidrosis was 12.2 ?? 2.6 months (mean ?? SD) in the single-needle group versus 13.6 ?? 3.6 months (mean << SD) in the two-needle group. Conclusions: As these results were not significantly different from those obtained in patients having considered to be effective for a neurolytic ;i,bar sympathectomy. 고혈압 환자에서 Nicardipine과 Esmolol의 병용 투여가 기관내삽관시 혈압과 심박수에 미치는 영향

Background: This study was designed to determine the efficacy of a combined use of esmolol and nicardipine for blunting hypertension and tachycardia after tracheal intubation in hypertensive patients. Methods: Forty-five hypertensive patients were randomly divided into three group: group E (esmolol 0.5 mg/kg, n = 15), group N (nicardipine 30㎍/kg, n = 15), group EN (esmolol 0.25 mg/kg, nicardipine 15㎍/kg, n = 15). All patients received midazolam 0.5 mg/kg, and glycopyrrolate 0.2 mg IM for premedication. Fentanyl 1㎍/kg was injected before induction of anesthesia, and then esmolol, nicardipine, or the mixed drugs were administrated as an IV bolus and immediately followed by the induction drugs: thiopental 5 mg/kg, and succinylcholine 1 mg/kg. Endotracheal intubation was performed 90 seconds after injection of the experimental drugs. Thereafter 50% Nitrous Oxide in oxygen and 2 vol % enflurane were inhaled. BP and HR were recorded at the resting state, before fentanyl injection (base {T0}), after injection test drug (T1), after induction (T2), immediately after intubation (T3), 2 min (T4), 3 min (T5), 4 min (T6), and 5 min (T7) after intubation. Results: There was a significant attenuation in SBP, MBP, DBP after tracheal intubation on the nicardipine & mixed groups compared to the esmolol group. HR was significantly lower in the esmolol and mixed groups than in the nicardipine group after tracheal intubation. Conclusions: Combined administration of esmolol (0.25 mg/kg) and nicardipine (15㎍/kg) was effective in attenuating an increase of BP and HR during tracheal intubation in hypertensive patients. Zn₄GeSe_(6):Co^(2+) 單結晶에서 不純物 光吸收 特性

In this work Zn₄GeSe_(6):Co^(2+) single crystals were grown by the C.T.R. (chemical transport reaction) method using high purity (6N) elements and iodine as a transport agent. The structure of the grown Zn₄GeSe_(6):Co^(2+) single crystals were monoclinic structure. The optical energy band gap was direct band gap and the temperature dependence of optical energy gap accorded well with the varshni equation. Optical absorption due to impurity in the Zn₄GeSe_(6):Co^(2+) single crystal was observed and described as originating from the electron transition between energy levels of Co^(2+) ion sited at T_(d) symmetry point.

Up to the present, I have been through in a archeological, literature way the fact that Saro Six Village are the migrants with the strong character of politics of divine right. Also the chiefs of Saro six village are the typical heads of the Bronze Age who can be symbolized a sword, a mirror and a jade as well as the one who have ruled over their villages from generation to generation with the basis of superiority in religion and family connection. In conclusion, we can define that "The heads of Sara six village" are not only the chiefs of the Bronze Ages with religious character but also traditional elder Cha-Cha-Ung(次次雄) respected by people. The family of Park came into Saro six village afterwards and established the Sara-State as a political chief. Although Park's royal family had experienced the division of religion and politics under WieMan-Chosun (衛滿朝鮮), as settling themselves down on Kyongju province, finally got to notice the necessity of acknowledgement the truth that Saro Six Village's heads are superior to them with the aspect of religious authority and there was a need to possess both. J{yuckguse(赫居世) named himself Gea-seo-gan(居西干) which means the political chief after all, while Namhae, the fit, used Cha-Cha-Ung as the term of royal family from the Sara Six Village.

구조적 문서에서의 구조 조인 질의 처리

최근 인터넷의 발전으로 인해 웹 상에서 두 개 이상의 데이터 소스들간의 데이터 교환과 전자 상거래 분야에서 데이터 또는 정보를 전자 문서로 만들고 효율적으로 관리하는 기법이 중요한 연구 주제로 인식되고 있다. 특히, 문서에 대한 통합 및 호환이 용이하고 문서의 재 사용성을 제공하는 XML과 같은 구조적 문서를 웹 상의 문서 표현 및 교환의 표준으로 인식됨에 따라 구조적 문서에 대한 검색 및 이에 관련된 연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있다 기존에 제안된 많은 질의어는 단일 문서상에서 내용 기반의 검색 또는 구조적 정보를 이용한 내용을 기반으로 한 내용 검색이 주를 이루고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다중 구조적 문서에서의 조인 질의 유형을 질의 특성에 따라 체계적으로 분류하였고, 순수 구조적 특징을 기반으로 조인이 가능하도록 순수 구조 기반의 조인 질의 유형을 제안하고 이에 따른 연산을 새롭게 정의하였다. 또한, 정보 검색 기능을 지원할 수 있는 유사성 조인 질의 연산을 정의하고, 제안된 새로운 질의 유형을 적응하기 위해 XML 표준 질의어인 XQuery 구문을 확장하였다. As the rapid development of internet, techniques of data exchanging among data sources on the web and managing information on electronic documents are regarded as important research areas. XML(eXtensible Markup Language) is considered as a standard format of data represent and exchange. Therefore, many works for retrieval of XML documents and its related techniques have been proposed. With these trends, W3C proposed XQuery as a standard XML query language after analyzing many XML query languages proposed formerly. However, most of proposed XML query languages are based on document content-based retrieval either using pure content or structural information in single document. In this paper, first, I systematically classified various join query types according to the query features. Second, I newly defined pure structure-based join query type and proposed the related operations. Third, I proposed similarity join query type to supporting information retrieval facility. Finally, to apply the newly proposed query types, I extended XQuery syntax which is a standard XML query language by W3C.

국내 기업의 사회적 책임에 대한 사례연구

Recently, there are moves to spread interests in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not only to large corporations but also to small and medium-sized businesses. CSR emerged in the U.S. in 1950s, and started being discussed in earnest from 1980s, and, of late, its possibility to act as a new trade barrier through ISO 26000 of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has been increased. However, many small and medium companies in our country still perceive CSR as a kind of social services, and reality is that they think CSR is a social work which should be carried out only by large corporations. In line with this, this research aims at introducing the concept of CSR, the process of its developments, the importance of CSR, the present situation of pursuing CSR both at home and abroad, and successful case thereof, and, through this, the researcher is to present method for propelling CSR to fit into the reality of small and medium-sized businesses in our country.
