Mathematical Modeling of a Variable Displacement Vane Pump for Engine Lubrication
Bui Ngoc Minh Truong,Dinh Quang Truong,Nguyen Thanh Trung,Ahn Kyoung Kwan 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10
This paper developed a complete and accurate mathematical model for a typical variable displacement vane-type oil pump to investigate the working performance of the pump. Firstly, the detailed theoretical model was built based on pump’s geometric design and dynamic analyses. Next, numerical simulations with the constructed model and experiments on the real pump system were carried out to analyze the main power loss factors in order to develop the complete model with high accuracy. The estimated pump performance using the complete pump model was finally verified by numerical simulations in comparison with the practical tests.

The purpose of this study is twofold. First, this paper argues that a theoretical lens that can connect three crucial concepts is often missing when it comes to assessing the success or failure of corporate reputation in terms of corporate environmental responsibility. These three concepts include the legitimacy of environmental disclosure information, stakeholder interest in corporate environmental responsibility, and the relationship between corporate environmental practices and disclosure. The second purpose is to investigate the roles of transparency and systemic thinking in corporate environmental responsibility and disclosure that could help to connect the information from environmental disclosure to internal information in firms, thereby minimizing conflicting accountabilities and increasing stakeholder engagement in environmental disclosure. Rather than conducting an empirical study, the author has followed a theoretical examination of legitimacy, stakeholder, and stewardship theories. This study, thus, suggests the retention of many theories (e.g. legitimacy, stakeholder, and stewardship) to study and explain the relationship of corporate environmental practices, environmental disclosure, and corporate reputation.

This study aims to investigate the status quo and identify the challenges and benefits of the digital transformation in the context of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. The six participating SMEs were purposely contacted, and they were either nominated for, or received the Vietnam Digital Awards in 2018, 2019 and 2020, which were held by the Vietnam Digital Communication Association (http://en.vdca.org.vn/). A qualitative research method is adopted, using a semi-structured interview method and a theoretical triangulation of legitimacy, stakeholder and stewardship theories to facilitate the investigation. This research tries to identify the current challenges and benefits for digital transformation of SMEs in Vietnam, based on perception and experience from business leaders and managers from six SMEs in Vietnam. The findings of this study reveal that besides the recent challenges for digital transformation, participants also experienced and shared their perspectives regarding the benefits received from the digital transformation journey of their organization, which varied from (i) improve operational as well as business functions; (ii) liberate staffs and managers from daily work and allows them to focus on decision-making tasks; (iii) enable solutions to deal with consequences from the COVID-19 pandemic; (iv) enhance value creation process; and (v) help firms to align with the global business standards.
