      • Development of Chinese Logistics And Problems that Korean Logistics Organizations should pay attention to when they make investment in China

        Since 90’,s Chinese logistics has been keeping high speed in logistics industry. This article is mainly about analysis of development of Chinese logistics in 2006, during “Tenth Five Years' Plan", and it also makes certain expectation of Chinese logistics' development. Based on these points, this article also makes general description on certain characteristics of Chinese logistics market. At the end of this article, it points six aspects which Korean logistics organization should pay attention to when they invest in China; those aspects are selection of investment zone; risk of policy; risk of market; risk of legislation; scale of investment and domestic operation.

        Maritime Shipping and Export Trade on “Maritime Silk Road”

        The initiative of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road will not only enhance China’s international trade with countries along the road, but will also bring opportunities and challenges to China’s maritime shipping industry. This article examines correlations between freight rate and the export trade on the five shipping routes of the Maritime Silk Road by the VAR model. The empirical results show that among the five routes, on the Persian Gulf route and European route, export has a significantly negative impact on freight index; however, on the Southeast Asian route and Taiwanese route freight index has a significantly negative effect on exports. Finally, some strategies were put forward on the Chinese shipping market and industry.

        Laminarin improves developmental competence of porcine early stage embryos by inhibiting oxidative stress

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Laminarin (LMA), a β-glucan mixture with good biocompatibility, improves the growth performance and immune response when used as food additives and nutraceuticals. The aim of the present research was to explore the effects of LMA on porcine early stage embryo development, as well as the underlying mechanisms. The results showed that the developmental competence of porcine early stage embryos was dramatically improved after LMA supplementation during the in vitro culture period. The presence of 20 μg/mL LMA during the in vitro culture period significantly improved cleavage rate, blastocyst formation rates, hatching rate, and total cell number in the blastocyst compared to that in the control group. Notably, LMA attenuated the intracellular reactive oxygen species generation induced by H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>. Furthermore, LMA not only increased intracellular glutathione levels, but also ameliorated mitochondrial membrane potential. In addition, the expression of a zygotic genome activation related gene (<I>YAP1</I>), pluripotency-related genes (<I>OCT4</I>, <I>NANOG,</I> and <I>SOX2</I>), and hatching-related genes (<I>COX2</I>, <I>GATA4,</I> and <I>ITGA5</I>) were up-regulated following LMA supplementation during porcine early stage embryo development. These results demonstrate that LMA has beneficial effects on the development of porcine early stage embryos via regulation of oxidative stress. This evidence provides a novel method for embryo development improvement associated with exposure to LMA.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Laminarin has beneficial effects on the development of porcine early stage embryos. </LI> <LI> Laminarin attenuates intracellular reactive oxygen species generation. </LI> <LI> Laminarin increases intracellular glutathione levels and ameliorates ΔΨm. </LI> <LI> Laminarin up-regulates the expression of ZGA/pluripotency/hatching related genes. </LI> </UL> </P>

        DEA-based Performance Measurement of Seaports in North Asia : Radial amd Non-radial Approach

        The center of global container traffic has been shifted from the Europe and the U.S.A. to the region of Northeast Asia, which mainly includes China, Japan and Korea. How to survive in the fiercest competitive environment and to optimize the logistics network in the region of Northeast Asia is becoming a hot topic in both business and academic area. This paper proposes a scheme to estimate the technical efficiency of Northeast Asian seaports as performance measure by radial and non-radial approach of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The outcome reveals that three Chinese seaports (Shanghai, Tianjin and Dalian) as well as three Korean seaports (Busan, Gwangyang, and Incheon) can be considered as efficient ones. Moreover, the paper also attemps to search for benchmark ports, and Shanghai and Busan are the identification of the benchmark seaports in Northeast Asia. The result of technical efficiency estimation shows that there exists a substantial opportunity for improvement in technical efficiency of seaports and also the heterogeneity in the technical efficiency among seaports in Northeast Asia.

        Transfusion auxiliary device by patient manual control dressing is proposed. It is realized by one-way rotation ratchet mechanism, which is consistent of slider-crank mechanism and double pawl ratchet mechanism. Dressing change is automatically realized by patient manual control rope. This reduces the labor intensity of the medical staff, shortens the waiting time of the patients. This device has the advantage of low cost, large market space.

        Supply Chain Risk Assessment and Control of Port Enterprises: Qingdao port as case study

        China's reform has led to rapid port enterprise development and improved major coastal port throughput capacity and loading efficiency. Modern port enterprises are important nodes in global supply chain integration and have begun to function as integrated logistics service centers. Qingdao port was used to evaluate enterprise supply chain risk. An improved AHP method was used to propose measures to strengthen port enterprise supply chain risk management. Port service process risk, operational risk, port relationship process risk, and external environment-associated risk are too high in this supply chain. To strengthen supply chain risk control, improved port service efficiency, enhanced port operational ability, strengthened membership management, and improved supply chain risk prevention mechanisms are required.

        Container Ports Multimodal Transport in China from the View of Low Carbon

        The study uses the carbon dioxide emission calculation model published by IPCC to measure carbon dioxide emissions and fuel inputs of the three types of multimodal transport (road-sea, railway-sea, and river-sea) in ports of China. Then, we make a case study on Shanghai port. Combined with carbon taxes launched around 2012 in China, this paper calculates the carbon taxes on the three types of multimodal transport and makes a pairwise comparison between roadway/railway, roadway/waterway and waterway/railway. The results show that increasing the proportion of railway-sea transportation and river-sea transportation to a reasonable level will achieve great energy saving, emission reduction, and economic benefits. According to different transportation network features, this paper applies Cluster analysis to raise separately suggestions for long-term development of coastal container ports in China based on low-carbon thinking.

        진도아리랑의 보존과 진흥 중국인이 느낀 아리랑의 이미지

        A key word to our understanding of Korean culture, Arirang, as recently added to UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage, plays a positive role in promoting the cultural image of Korea. In the eyes of Chinese people, Arirang, which originates from Korea folk-song, is now visualized as that in Korean songs, Korean culture and the world’s culture heritage in whole. In China nowadays, Arirang is unchained from the single emotion of pathos, and can now represent both joy and sadness. Originally a nostalgia folk-song by which the Korean people chant their pining for home land, Arirang is re-interpreted as a popular song of passion and gentleness, bearing the chance of solidarity and revitalization of a people. The Chinese people are also infatuated with the natural affinity brought by Arirang, thus paving the way for it’s ascending popularity in Asia as a whole. Transcending its one-fold significance of music and transforming into cultural product, Arirang is deeply branded with the characteristics, or rather, DNA of the Korean people. In China, Arirang standsasa symbol of not only the Korean people, but also the Republic of Korea and Hanguk-in. It has now become a cultural keyword in the understanding of the Korean people, the Republic of Korea and Hanguk-in. As a result, Arirang serves as a bridge between the Chinese people and the cultures of both the Korean people and the Republic of Korea. We can have a keen observation of Korean culture through Arirang, as IT industry plays the same role in our observation of Korean economy. Therefore, we tend to for man instant connection with Arirang and the Republic of Korea, and even label Hanguk-in as the Arirang people. Arirang thus becomes a common address of the Republic of Korea and Hanguk-in. Standing in UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage, Arirang is now a cultural symbol of the entire world. As culture is not to be confined within a single ethnic group, it tends to become even more solid if shared, and even more splendid after being carefully carved. In the era of globalization that celebrates the chemistry of different cultures, Arirang has walked beyond the cultural circle of the Republic of Korean, Hanguk-in and their expatriates, and is remolded into one that caters for the aesthetic appreciation of different peoples. In final words, the Chinese people is now taking Arirang as the castaway of hatred, the melody that praises the beauty of Korea, and the cultural heritage shared by not only the Korean people, but also the world as a whole. With the beat and rhythm of Arirang, we expect to see a path of globalization being paved, mingling the traditions of Korean culture, ancient, modern and that of future.

        Optimized Relay Selection and Power Allocation by an Exclusive Method in Multi-Relay AF Cooperative Networks

        In a single-source and multi-relay amplify-forward (AF) cooperative network, the outage probability and the power allocation are two key factors to influence the performance of an entire system. In this paper, an optimized AF relay selection by an exclusive method and near optimal power allocation (NOPA) is proposed for both good outage probability and power efficiency. Given the same power at the source and the relay nodes, a threshold for selecting the relay nodes is deduced and employed to minimize the average outage probability. It mainly excludes the relay nodes with much higher thresholds over the aforementioned threshold and thus the remainders of the relay nodes participate in cooperative forwarding efficiently. So the proposed scheme can improve the utility of the resources in the cooperative multi-relay system, as well as reduce the computational complexity. In addition, based on the proposed scheme, a NOPA is also suggested to approach sub-optimal power efficiency with low complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme obtains about 2.1dB and 5.8dB performance gain at outage probability of 10<sup>-4</sup>, when compared with the all-relay-forward (6 participated relays) and the single-relay-forward schemes. Furthermore, it obtains the minimum outage probability among all selective relay schemes with the same number of the relays. Meanwhile, it approaches closely to the optimal exhaustive scheme, thus reduce much complexity. Moreover, the proposed NOPA scheme achieves better outage probability than those of the equal power allocation schemes. Therefore, the proposed scheme can obtain good outage probability, low computational complexity and high power efficiency, which makes it pragmatic efficiently in the single-source and multi-relay AF based cooperative networks.

        Optimal design of hydraulic support landing platform for a four-rotor dish-shaped UUV using particle swarm optimization

        Four-rotor dish-shaped unmanned underwater vehicles (FRDS UUVs) are new type underwater vehicles. The main goal of this paper is to develop a quick method to optimize the design of hydraulic support landing platform for the new UUV. In this paper, the geometry configuration and instability type of the platform are defined. Computational investigations are carried out to study the hydrodynamic performance of the landing platform using the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method. Then, the response surface model of the optimization objective is established. The intelligent particle swarm optimization (PSO) is applied to finding the optimal solution. The result demonstrates that the stability of landing platform is significantly improved with the global objective index increasing from 1.045 to 1.158 (10.86% higher) after the optimization process.
