Indoor resting and human-landing mosquito collections were conducted at selected localities in Kolkata, India to determine resting and host-seeking behavior, night biting activity, seasonal distributions and malaria infection rates. During a two-year study (2006–2007), 5123 and 1716 female mosquitoes were captured in indoor-resting and human-landing collections, respectively, from two types of residences (brick built rooms, temporary huts). Regression analysis demonstrated that the abundance of indoor resting An. stephensi was positively correlated with ambient temperature and relative humidity. The average duration of the gonotrophic cycle for laboratory-reared An. stephensi was about 4 days. Average proportion of parous An. stephensi, daily survival and daily mortality rates were 46%, 82% and 18%, respectively. Plasmodium vivax sporozoite infections were detected in the salivary glands of two wild-caught An. stephensi (sporozoite rate 2.2%) and one An. annularis (sporozoite rate 1.5%). No P. falciparum infections were detected. Oocyst infections were observed in one An. annularis mosquito (oocyst rate 1.5%).

This research effort examines the flow behavior and heat transfer assessment of water carrying iron (iii) oxide magnetic fluid due to a rotating and moving plane lamina under the influence of magnetic dipole. The effect of rotational viscosity and magnetic body force is taken into consideration in the present study. The involvement of the moving disk makes a significant contribution to the velocity distribution and heat transfer in rotational flow. Vertical movement of the disk keeps the flow unsteady and the similarity transformation converts the governing equation of unsteady flow into nonlinear coupled differential equations. The non-dimensional equation in the present system is solved through the finite element procedure. Optimizing the use of physical parameters described in this flow, such results can be useful in the rotating machinery industries for heat transfer enhancement.

We proposed to give some new ψ−coupled fixed point theorems using simulation function coupled with other control functions in a complete partially ordered metric space which includes many related results. Further we prove the existence of solution of a fractional integral equation by using this fixed point theorem and explain it with the help of an example.
Economic Misery and Remittances in Jamaica
Anupam Das,Leanora Brown,Adian Mcfarlane 중앙대학교 경제연구소 2023 Journal of Economic Development Vol.48 No.2
Jamaica is noted for having high remittance inflows (remittances) and economic misery, the latter often measured as a function of inflation and unemployment. We examine the relationship between economic misery and remittances in Jamaica from 1985 to 2019. To measure economic misery, we use the Okun and Hanke misery indices. We arrive at two key findings after applying vector error correction modelling, Granger causality testing, and controlling for potentially confounding factors. First, we find cointegration between remittances and our measures of economic misery. Second, there is bidirectional Granger causality between remittances and economic misery. One implication of our finding is that Jamaican policymakers could reduce economic misery through policies to increase remittance flows, such as providing more incentives for migrants to remit.
