Background: Nigella Sativa (NS) is an herb from the Ranunculaceae family that exhibits numerous medicinal properties and has been used as important constituent of many complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs). The ability of NS to kill cancer cells such as PC3, HeLa and hepatoma cells is well established. However, our understanding of the mode of death caused by NS remains nebulous. The objective of this study was to gain further insight into the mode and mechanism of death caused by NS in breast cancer MCF-7 cells. Materials and Methods: Human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) were treated with a methanolic extract of NS, and a dose- and time-dependent study was performed. The $IC_{50}$ was calculated using a Cell Titer $Blue^{(R)}$ viability assay assay, and evidence for DNA fragmentation was obtained by fluorescence microscopy TUNEL assay. Gene expression was also profiled for a number of apoptosis-related genes (Caspase-3, -8, -9 and p53 genes) through qPCR. Results: The $IC_{50}$ of MCF-7 cells was $62.8{\mu}L/mL$. When MCF-7 cells were exposed to $50{\mu}L/mL$ and $100{\mu}L/mL$ NS for 24h, 48h and 72h, microscopic examination (TUNEL assay) revealed a dose- and time-dependent increase in apoptosis. Similarly, the expression of the Caspase-3, -8, -9 and p53 genes increased significantly according to the dose and time. Conclusions: NS induced apoptosis in MCF-7 cells through both the p53 and caspase pathways. NS could potentially represent an alternative source of medicine for breast cancer therapy.

Alhazmi, Huda N,Alghamdi, Alshymaa,Alajlani, Fatimah,Abuayied, Samah,Aldosari, Fahd M International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2021 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.21 No.4
Care services are a significant asset in human life. Care in its overall nature focuses on human needs and covers several aspects such as health care, homes, personal care, and education. In fact, care deals with many dimensions: physical, psychological, and social interconnections. Very little information is available on estimating the cost of care services that provided to orphans and abandoned children. Prediction of the cost of the care system delivered by governmental or non-governmental organizations to support orphans and abandoned children is increasingly needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the care cost for orphanage organizations in Saudi Arabia to forecast the cost as well as explore the most influence factor on the cost. By using business analytic process that applied statistical and machine learning techniques, we proposed a model includes simple linear regression, Naive Bayes classifier, and Random Forest algorithms. The finding of our predictive model shows that Naive Bayes has addressed the highest accuracy equals to 87% in predicting the total care cost. Our model offers predictive approach in the perspective of business analytics.
Text Mining in Online Social Networks: A Systematic Review
Alhazmi, Huda N International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.3
Online social networks contain a large amount of data that can be converted into valuable and insightful information. Text mining approaches allow exploring large-scale data efficiently. Therefore, this study reviews the recent literature on text mining in online social networks in a way that produces valid and valuable knowledge for further research. The review identifies text mining techniques used in social networking, the data used, tools, and the challenges. Research questions were formulated, then search strategy and selection criteria were defined, followed by the analysis of each paper to extract the data relevant to the research questions. The result shows that the most social media platforms used as a source of the data are Twitter and Facebook. The most common text mining technique were sentiment analysis and topic modeling. Classification and clustering were the most common approaches applied by the studies. The challenges include the need for processing with huge volumes of data, the noise, and the dynamic of the data. The study explores the recent development in text mining approaches in social networking by providing state and general view of work done in this research area.
$b$-Generalized derivations on Banach algebras
Husain Alhazmi 대한수학회 2022 대한수학회논문집 Vol.37 No.1
In this paper, we show, among others, that if $A$ is a Banach algebra satisfying a functional identity involving a $b$-generalized derivation $F$ on $A$, under some mild conditions, is of the form $F(x)=ax$ for all $x\in R$, where $a\in Q_r$, a right Martindale quotient ring of $A$.

Cloud computing provides on-demand IT services vialarge distributed datacenters over high-speed networks. Virtualization,a key cloud computing technology, allows service providersto offer computing services in cloud environments without platformcompatibility discrepancies. The recent proliferation of cloudcomputing has rekindled interest in network virtualization. Thus, network virtualization is emerging as a polymorphic approachfor the future Internet that will facilitate the use of shared resources. Virtual network provisioning is considered to be a mainresource allocation challenge in any virtualized network environment. Software-defined networking (SDN) imparts flexibility toa network by removing the control layer from the data transferlayer of the network and moving it to the control plane. Networkvirtualization is further employed to share physical infrastructureto enable multiple service providers to access the network. Flexibleaccess requires efficient management of network resources; theSDN control plane can be used for efficient management of virtualnetworks. In this study, we formulate virtual network provisioningin SDN-enabled, geographically distributed cloud computing datacentersas a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem. The formulation of the proposed optimized virtual network provisioning(OVNP) model is studied by means of simulations. The performanceof the proposed approach is measured against enhancednetwork cloud provisioning (ENCP), our previous research, andother recognized research focused on the ratio of successfully provisionedrequests and the efficiency of resource utilization. The resultsverify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Purpose: Augmentation cystoplasty (AC) is a surgical procedure used in adults and children with refractory bladder dysfunction, including a small bladder capacity and inadequate bladder compliance, and in whom conservative and medical treatment has failed. This study was aimed to determine the long-term outcomes of AC in children. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted of 42 patients (31 males; mean age, 14.2±6.2 years) who underwent AC for neurogenic and nonneurogenic bladder dysfunction, with a median 12.0±1.5 years of follow-up. All patients underwent AC using the ileum with or without continent reconstruction. Pre-AC, concurrent, and post-AC procedures and complications were analyzed. Patients who underwent ureterocystoplasty, were lost to follow-up, or had less than 10 years of follow-up were excluded. The primary outcomes were the complication and continence rates, the post-AC linear rate of height and weight gain, and renal function. The Student t-test was used to evaluate between-group differences and the paired t-test was used to evaluate longitudinal changes in measured variables. Results: Renal function was stable or improved in 32 of 42 patients (76.2%), with a post-AC continence rate of 88.1%. Thirty patients (71.4%) required 72 procedures post-AC. There was no statistically significant difference in the mean percentile of height (P=0. 212) or weight (P=0.142) of patients in the pre- and post-AC periods. No cases of bladder perforation or malignancy were detected. Conclusions: We consider AC to be a safe and effective procedure that does not negatively affect future physical growth, while achieving a good rate of stable renal function. Patients need long-term follow-up to address long-term complications.
Application of Topic Modeling Techniques in Arabic Content: A Systematic Review
Maram Alhmiyani,Huda Alhazmi International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2023 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.23 No.6
With the rapid increase of user generated data on digital platforms, the task of categorizing and classifying theses huge data has become difficult. Topic modeling is an unsupervised machine learning technique that can be used to get a summary from a large collection of documents. Topic modeling has been widely used in English content, yet the application of topic modeling in Arabic language is limited. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to provide a systematic review of the application of topic modeling algorithms in Arabic content. Using a well-known and trusted databases including ScienceDirect, IEEE Xplore, Springer Link, and Google Scholar. Considering the publication date from 2012 to 2022, we got 60 papers. After refining the papers based on predefined criteria, we resulted in 32 papers. Our result show that unfortunately the application of topic modeling techniques in Arabic content is limited.
