Research on New Mineral Filler for Cold Recycled Asphalt Pavement Applications
Hosang Ahn,Yeong-min Kim 한국도로학회 2018 한국도로학회 학술대회 발표논문 초록집 Vol.2018 No.05
Cold recycled asphalt has been utilized to overcome high energy consumption and working temperature and low recycled pavement material percentage in hot mix asphalt and concrete pavement [1]. Up to dates, asphalt recycling on site called as Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR), Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR) and even hot recycling technologies have been developed and applied to the fields, but limitations such as poor adhesion between gravel and asphalt, slow hydration time, bleeding pavement are reported, respectively [2, 3, 4]. Among these issues, hydration time and initial strength in application are all related to the property of mineral filler influencing the mechanical property of pavement mixture. Due to these reasons, there have been continuous needs to develop new mineral filler to overcome previously reported issues by with the respects of mineral composition, hydration reaction and surface reaction enhancement. In this study, several natural minerals such as alumina, silicate, and calcium oxide were utilized as raw materials and following characterizations using SEM, EDS, XRD, and BET were performed to evaluate materials properties and suggest research directions for the optimum mineral filler development.

Optical properties of asbestos were analyzed with aid of chromameter and spectral sensor for wireless indoor air monitoring sensor network system. To achieve a highly selective recognition, different color filters were utilized to monitor the chrominance value and wavelength changes. LabVIEW based data matching program was developed to separate asbestos from other particulate matters by matching chrominance value and wavelength of asbestos simultaneously. We suggest these optical data for the future optical property based wireless asbestos sensor network development as a part of smart indoor air monitoring system.

Effect of reagents on optical properties of asbestos and remote spectral sensing
Hosang Ahn,Byungkwon Jung,Jae Roh Park 한국정보기술융합학회 2014 JoC Vol.5 No.4
Onsite monitoring of asbestos in indoor air is necessary to maintain good quality of air and secure safe environment to workers or residents in buildings. With the aid of wireless network technology, sensing data can be the key source of smart air quality monitoring system. For the selective detection of asbestos fibers from other particulate matters, water and refractive index liquids were used with several color filters for optical sensing by spectral sensor. Effect of each reagent was analyzed in terms of chrysotile concentration. It is suggested that standardized optical data of asbestos would be applicable to the ICT based smart indoor air controlling system.

This study has been conducted with the intention of evaluating the recovery of the ecological system before and after the composition of the wetland in the regions of Lake Paro by analyzing the changes in fish with the use of site research after the composition of wetland, as well as the study of the ecological system data before composing wetland on the upstream of Lake Paro, as conducted in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon-do. This study also has the intention of being used as basic data for future management of the ecological system. The results of the research displayed 45 species of 12 families in the entire area of Lake Paro before composing the wetland. However, the region composed of wetland in the upstream of Lake Paro displayed a relatively weak number of fish with 22 species of 6 families. After the composition of wetland, 30 species of 7 families appeared and the group of fish in the wetland area is gradually stabilizing. The research within the wetland was found to have 62.4% of its entire biomass filled with an economic fish species, which equates to approximately 120 kg. This is a significantly large amount compared to the biomass generally found in other artificial lakes. Accordingly, this study is planning an improvement project in order to overcome the degeneration of water quality in certain regions in addition to the active assessment of plans which use the abundance of fish in the upstream of Lake Paro as a highly added value for tourism resource.
