        Recently, maritime environment is rapidly changing and there is prominent trend toward vessels' becoming larger and faster. This change is due to continuous increase of container volume, demand from shippers for reduction of logistics cost and effort of shipping lines to reduce transportation cost. In order to cope with this change and to elevate the port productivity, full or partial automated container terminals began to be developed. In this report, I would like to introduce Gwangyang Automated Container Terminal, which is now being developed in Korea, through introduction of automated container terminal and development status of automated container terminals in the world, and comparison between general terminal and automated terminal.

        Numerical Analysis of Flow Pattern by Outflow Gates with Manifold Channel

        최근 친환경항만(Eco-port)을 건설하려는 노력과 쾌적한 워터프론트 개발에 관한 관심이 고조되면서, 항만의 방파제를 중심으로 수질개선을 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 항 내의 수질개선을 위한 연구로서 최근 해수교환방파제가 주목받고 있지만, 여전히 항 내 안쪽의 영역에서는 해수교환방파제로부터 유입된 해수가 도달하지 못하여 해수의 순환이 잘 안 되는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 해수교환방파제의 단점을 보완하고자, 다기수로라는 새로운 개념의 해수교환방파제를 도입하여, 항 내 안쪽 영역까지 해수의 순환을 촉진할 수 있는 방법을 모색하였다. 이를 위해서 현재 해수교환방파제가 설치된 주문진 항에 가상의 다기수로를 설치하고, 수중유출구의 위치, 크기, 방향을 제어하여 해수유입에 따른 항 내 유동패턴을 비교 검토하고, 해수순환을 촉진시킬 수 있는 방법을 모색하였다. For the improvement of water quality in a harbor, several studies have been carried out on SEB (Seawater Exchange Breakwater) in recent years, but a problem has been shown whereby the water on the inside area far from the SEB cannot be easily exchanged. In order to solve the problem of the SEB, the Manifold channel, a new concept of the SEB, is introduced in this paper. By using the manifold channel, it is possible to exchange the water of the inside area for seawater from the outside. Here, to assess the outflow gates of the manifold channel governing flow behavior, a virtual manifold channel controlled the location, width and direction of outflow gates applied to the Jumunjin fishery port, where the SEB has been established. In addition, the desirable flow pattern of the port by utilizing the two layer current model is identified, and five general cases of the manifold channel are described in this paper. The model is verified by comparing with observation of the SEB model, and the results are in general agreement. From the results of the manifold channel, in the case of the Jumunjin fishery port, the small circulation of counter clockwise is necessary for the water exchange on the inside area, but it should be controlled by the outflow gates for other areas. Using the two layer current model, the desirable flow pattern of the port can be predicted, and the water exchange for the upper and lower layer can be examined. For the practical use of the manifold channel, further studies on the manifold channel will be necessary, and it may then be used broadly for the design of breakwater in the future.

        염생식물을 이용한 항만 녹색공간 창출기법에 관한 연구

        항만생태계 녹색공간 창출을 위해 우리나라 항만에 분포하는 식물상특성, 환경요인분석, 항만유형분석, 적합종, 최소보존면적산출을 통해 식재모식도를 작성하였다. 50개 조사지역에서 44과 174종의 관속식물이 출현하였으며, 그중 염생식물은 19과 48종이 분포하였다. 우점군락은 통보리사초, 갯그령, 좀보리사초, 갯씀바귀, 순비기나무, 갯메꽃, 해당화, 갯완두, 솔장다리, 우산잔디, 번행초, 칠면초, 해홍나물, 갯잔디, 갈대를 포함하여 15개 군락이 분포하였다. 조사지역에 분포하는 식물군락과 환경요인과의 Canonical Correspondence Analysis(CCA) 결과 Clay marsh, Sand marsh, Sand gravel marsh 유형으로 분류되었다. 생육지 유형별 적합종으로 clay marsh는 칠면초, 갈대, 갯잔디, 해홍나물 sand marsh는 갯그령, 갯씀바귀, 통보리사초, 좀보리사초 sand gravel marsh는 갯메꽃, 순비기나무가 선정되었다. 적합종에 대한 최소보전면적을 산출하고 항만생태계 세부 유형별로 가이드라인과 모식도를 작성하였다. To make conservative port and coast ecosystems and creative the greenspace, We were investigated with characteristic of flora, environmental factors, types of port, adaptive species, minimum conservation area and plantation model. In 50 sites of study areas, there are 19 families and 174 species of vascular plants and 19 families and 48 species of halophytes. Dominant communities in port ecosystem contains Carex kobomugi community, Elymus mollis community, Carex pumila community, Ixeris repens community, Vitex rutundifolia community, Calystegia soldandlla community, Rosa rugosa community, Lathyrus japonica community, Salsola komarovi community, Cynodon dactylon community, Tetragonia tetragonioides community, Suaeda japonica community, Suaeda maritima community, Zoysia sinica community and Phragmites communis community. We carried out Canonical Correspondence Analysis(CCA) for ordinations on the vegetation and plant communities-environmental variable matrices in 50 sites. The communities tended to cluster into three types: Clay marsh, Sand marsh, Sand gravel marsh types. Adaptive species in habitate types are selected that sand marsh-type communities in ports contained Elymus mollis community, Ixeris repens community, Carex kobomugi community, Carex pumila community, Clay marsh-type communities contained Suaeda japonica community, Phragmites communis community, Zoysia sinica community and Suaeda maritima community, Sand gravel marsh-type communities contained Vitex rutundifolia community, Calystegia soldandlla community. We are conducted the estimation of minimal area for plantation of adaptive plant species and carried out guide line and plantation model for creation of green space in port ecosystem.
