This paper evaluates quantitatively springback amounts using CAE in the forming process of a hat-type product with UHSS(Ultra High Strength Steel) sheet having UTS of 980㎫ and 1180㎫. The finite element analysis is carried out in order to investigate the effect of process modification for reducing springback after the forming process. Several kinds of forming processes are utilized in order to improve shape accuracy such as embossment in the upper part of the punch, lower padding operation at the end of the forming process and so on. Analysis results demonstrate that the springback amount is reduced when the embossing process is applied after the forming process and springback tendency is very sensitive according to the embossing shape and the padding condition.
