Currently Eco-design is a concerned issue primarily in automobile industries. It is because vital environmental challenges are triggered by the increasing of the number of wasted cars and their by-products. This study tries to propose national substitutes by catching the condition on international automobile-involved environmental restriction and analogize Eco-design trend and cases of international and national automobile industries. Futhermore, to put Eco-design into an activated place, quality and reliability should be assured. This study proposes a method of introduction of part and material reliability technology to check the justification of re-manufacturing and the reliability assessment.

A design of reliability qualification test based on performance distribution is developed. In general, the performance of an item degrades as the time goes by and the failure of an item occurs when the performance degradation reaches the pre-determined critical level. This article considers the reliability qualification test based on a more tightened critical value at the earlier stage to reduce the evaluation testing time and cost. A numerical example is provided to illustrate how to use the developed reliability qualification test.
트리즈를 활용한 하드디스크 드라이브 액추에이터 래치 장치의 신뢰성 문제 해결

An actuator latch device of a hard disk drive is installed for locking an actuator to hold a magnetic head parked in a parking zone. Applying an external force to the drive, the head can move away from the parking zone and destroy data on the disk. A magnet latching mechanism is used to prevent the actuator from moving when the computer is not in use. A permanent magnet holds the actuator when the head is in the parking zone. When the computer is turned on, the actuator has to overcome the latch magnet in order to move. A stronger latch magnet will hold the actuator adequately, but the actuator will not be released when unlocking is required. A breakthrough solution is needed to improve the reliability of the drive without any deterioration of its performance. In order to obtain the idea for resolving this technical contradiction, we analyse patents for actuator latch device of a hard disk drive. A practical way for solving contradictions in product development using TRIZ is proposed in this paper.

The founder of TRIZ, Genrich Altshuller, discovered forty patterns of inventive solutions, known as 40 Inventive Principles, extracting them from tens of thousands of technical patents. It was found further that 40 Inventive Principles are applicable not only for every technical field, but also for non-technical spheres - finance, business, management, marketing, social relations, education and etc. This paper extends the area of reliability through TRIZ. Enclosed are several examples how 40 Inventive Principles have been used in the reliability enhancement in the literature.
QFD와 TRIZ의 통합에 의한 설계 단계에서의 창의적 문제 해결 방안

QFD(Quality Function Deployment) is a very important tool to improve market share by reducing the gap between the voice of customer and the product’s performance. But QFD is not a problem solving tool, although it is very useful in identifying what has to be solved or improved in order to meet the customer’s desires. TRIZ has proved to be a very strong tool to solve the difficult problems that requires inventive thinking. QFD integrated with TRIZ becomes hot research recently. But merely linking betweenHOQ(House of Quality) in QFD and the contradiction matrix in TRIZ can not providedesigners with a concrete method to solve the technical problem in the design process.Practically, the contradiction matrix and 40 inventive principles are not helpful for solvingthe technical problem. To solve the technical problem using TRIZ, a search for the tooland the object involved in the problem is made, from which the wanted result should bederived. A practical method to integrate QFD and TRIZ is proposed in this paper.
