Sharelt: 영상 캡쳐를 이용한 이종 윈도우 시스템에서 응용프로그램 공유 시스템

응용프로그램 공유란 개인 작업 시에 사용하는 임의의 응용프로그램을 화상회의와 같은 공동작업 시에 수정 없이 사용하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 윈도우 캡쳐를 사용하여 MS-Windows에 있는 임의의 응용프로그램을 Win3.1/95/NT와 X-Windows에서 공유할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하고 그 성능을 평가한다. CSCW 응용프로그램의 공통적인 문제점은 참가자가 증가하면서 발생하는 성능저하이다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 IP-multicast를 사용하였으며, 종단전송시차를 최소화하는 효과적인 재전송 알고리즘을 제안한다. 윈도우 캡쳐 방식을 사용하기 때문에 서로 다른 윈도우 시스템간에 프로토콜 변환 없이 응용프로그램 공유가 가능하며, 향후 윈도우 시스템의 버전 변화에 상관없이 사용이 가능하다. Application Sharing enables users to share a program running on one computer with other people in a group work such as desktop conferencing. In this paper we propose an application sharing method using window capturing to share applications under MS-Windows with Win3.1/95/NT and X window system and evaluate the performance of the prototype system. To overcome the system performance degradation as a function of the number of participants, we propose an efficient retransmission strategy to minimize end-to-end delay. With the use of the window capturing method, the prototype system allows any MS-Windows application to be shared regardless of not only the window systems but also the version-up of window systems.
