고용 관련 환경에서의 AAC 사용자들에 관한 문헌 분석: 1996-2007년의 국외 연구를 중심으로

본 연구는 보완ㆍ대체의사소통과 고용에 관련된 연구들을 종합 분석하여 현재까지의 연구를 정리하고 앞으로의 연구 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 1996년부터 2007년까지 영문으로 발간되는 학술지에 게재된 16편의 논문들을 분석 자료로 활용하여 연구 형태, 주제, 대상자 및 연구의 결과를 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 고용관련 환경에서의 AAC 사용에 관련된 논문은 크게 기술 연구(descriptive study)와 중재 연구(intervention study)로 나뉘었으며, 조사 연구는 AAC 사용자를 대상으로 하는 고용 경험에 관련된 연구와 AAC 사용자들의 고용주와 동료들을 대상으로 하는 사회적 통합 및 고용 경험에 관한 연구들로 정리되었으며, 중재 연구는 직업 준비 및 고용 관련 중재와 의사 소동 중심의 중재로 분류되어 분석되었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 AAC 사용자들의 직업 및 고용 환경을 증진시킬 수 있는 다음과 같은 논의가 이루어졌다: (1) 다양한 요구를 지닌 AAC 사용자들을 대상으로 한 연구의 필요성, (2) 사회적 상호작용 및 의사소통의 질적 향상을 위한 환경 분석을 통한 기술 교수의 필요성, (3) AAC 사용자의 대화 상대자들을 위한 교수 및 지원 제공의 필요성. 또한 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 국내 고용 현장에서의 효과적인 AAC 활용을 위하여 다음과 같이 제언하고 있다: (1) 국내 고용환경에 적용할 수 있는 AAC 도구 및 체계에 대한 논의의 필요성, 그리고 (2) AAC 활용의 전환 및 고용환경으로의 연계. The purposes of this study were two folds: (1) to review and analyze current research on employment and augmentative and alternative communication(AAC) users with disabilities and (2) to provide directions for research and practice. 16 research on AAC users from peer-reviewed journals, published in English between 1996 to 2007, were chosen for an analytic review. Those studies were divided into two categories: (1) descriptive and (2) intervention. Subcategory of descriptive research was employment experiences of AAC users and those of co-workers and employers who worked or currently work with AAC users. Intervention studies were analyzed with two subcategories, job preparation program and communication-based intervention. From the results of the analytic review, implications for practices and further research were discussed, including (1) needs of study to investigate diverse AAC users needs and job-related experiences, (2) needs of instructions enhancing social integration and quality of communication based on an environmental analysis, and (3) needs of supports and training for communication partners. Furthermore, implications for using AAC at employment-related circumstances in Korea were discussed.
