This study is to examine the possibility of pre-cooling at platform. Through measurement of the thermal environment of Bujeon Subway platforms, review the potential use of ground-water and night purge. The results of this research can improve the thermal environment pre-cooling of the design.

Heat circumstance of the subway platform which doesn't use air-cooling in summer is so poor condition that passenger would not use subway. To improve this circumstance by passive way we had measured each temperature of the downtown which surrounds a subway station and of the upper region, and applied these to platform. As a result that we simulated the temperature change of platform, we could know that the less temperature of the outer leads the better heat condition of platform also that through the change of ventilation time and amount we could improve the temperature of platform.
