A Framework to Develop E-Learning Contents of Agricultural Safety

This paper presented a framework to develop e-learning contents of agricultural safety for farmers in Korea. The framework was divided into 1) Selection of crops and educational methods, 2) Collection of materials, and 3) Development of e-learning contents. In the first phase, the crops were selected based on the data of production, farming type, farmhouses, production area, and the educational methods were chosen considering the characteristics of age, education, learning interest, etc. The second phase, collection of materials, was associated with characteristics and risk factors of tasks which were needed for developing scenario to prevent intentional as well as unintentional accidents in agricultural tasks. It included field survey, usability testing of previous e-learning programs, task analysis, accident case, and risk assessments. In the final phase, the contents were developed with animation using the scenario developed in the second phase. The developed e-learning contents can be practically and easily used in educating and training older farmers for safe agricultural tasks.
