N/A Objective : Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection plays an importanat role in the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal diseases, and its diagnosis is crucial in clinical practice. Currently many diagnostic methods are introduced for its simple, and accurate diagnosis. 13C urea breath test(13C-UBT) is a convenient, non-invasive and reliable test for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection. To assess the clinical value of the 13C-UBT, we examined the sensitivity, specificity of 13C-UBT with regard to other tests. Methods : A prospective multicenter study was done in 107 subjects(mean age 36 years, 55 males, 52 females) presenting for endoscopy from three university hospitals. We tested for H. pylori infection by 13C-UBT, serum IgG antibody level, and multiple biopsies for rapid urease testing and histology. Either a positive histology result or a combined positive CLO test and IgG ELISA in the presence of a negative histology results, was interpreted as a positive finding for H. pylori infection. 13C-UBT was performed after 4hrs fast. Breath samples were collected at 0 and 30 minutes after giving 75mg 13C-urea. Results: Results were analysed by isotope ratio mass spectrometry and expressed as units of delta( 13C, 13CO2 /12CO2) and considered as positive for H. pylori if delta value was greater than 4.0. Sensitivity and specificity of 13C-UBT were 94.5%, and 100% respectively. No significant adverse events were noted. Conclusions : The 13C-UBT offers an easy, safe and accurate approach to the diagnosis of H. pylori infection in routine clinical practice

Diffuse involvement of the right pulmonary artery (PA) associated with fistula between the PA and coronary artery is report-ed in a woman with Takayasu’s arteritis. Both the subclavian arteries were totally occluded and drained by the meanderinged artery arising from both common carotid arteries. Lung perfusion scan revealed perfusion defect of right lung. Two fistulas were identified. A large fistula was between the right PA and left circumflex artery. A small fistula was between the right PA and left anterior descending artery. This is a rare case of Takayasu’s arteritis presenting with a coronary – pulmonary artery fistula that is secondary to a diffuse unilateral involvement of PA.
Classification Performance of Bio-Marker and Disease Word using Word Representation Models

One of the most important processesin a machine learning-based natural language processing module is to represent words by inputting the module. This can be accomplished by representing words in one-hot form with a large vector size without applying the concept of semantic similarity between words, or by word representation (word embedding) with vectors to represent lexical similarity. This has attracted keen research interest by improving the performance of several natural language processing modelssuch as syntactic parsing and sentiment analysis (also known as opinion mining). In this study, classification performance of Word2Vec, canonical correlation analysis (CCA), and GloVeare tested on a corpus that established using the titles and abstractsof 204,674biomedical articles published in PubMed. Categories include disease name, disease symptom, and ovarian cancer marker.Ovarian cancer markers were used as bio-markers.The classification performance of each word representation model for each category is visualized by mapping the results in two-dimensional word representations using t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE).

논토양 종류가 메탄배출에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 적황색토인 화동통과 회색토인 신흥통을 공시하여 벼 재배기간중 메탄배출량, 산화환원전위 및 토양중 산화물 함량을 분석하였다. 적황색토에서 메탄배출이 회색토에 비해 유의하게 낮았으며, 산화환원전위는 상대적으로 높았다. 적황색토는 회색토에 비해 쉽게 환원될 수 있는 Active oxide 함량은 낮은 반면, 상대적으로 안정성이 높은 Free oxide의 함량이 높았다. 따라서 논토양 종류별 메탄배출은 벼 재배기간중 산화환원전위와 토양중 Geothite, Hematite 등과 같은 메탄산화제의 함량에 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. Anaerobic decomposition of organic materials in flooded rice fields produces methane (CH4) gas, which escapes to the atmosphere primarily by transport through organs of the rice plants such as arenchyma etc., Although the annual amount of methane emitted from a given area is influenced by cultivation periods of rice and organic/inorganic amendments etc., soil type also affects methane emission from paddy soil during a rice cultivation. A field experiment was conducted to evaluate effects of soil type on CH4 emission in two paddy soils. One is a red-yellow soil classified as a Hwadong series (fine, mixed, mesic family of Aquic Hapludalfs), and the other is a gley soil classified as a Shinheung series (fine loamy, mixed, nonacid, mesic family of Aeric Fluvaquentic Endoaquepts). During a flooded periods, redox potentials of red-yellow soil were significantly higher than gley soil. CH4 emission in red-yellow soil (0.21 kg ha<SUP>-1</SUP> day<SUP>-1</SUP>) was lower than that in gley soil (5.25 kg ha<SUP>-1</SUP> day<SUP>-1</SUP>). In the condition of different soil types, CH4 emissions were mainly influenced by the content of total free metal oxides in paddy soil. The results strongly imply that iron- or manganese-oxides of well ordered crystalline forms in soil such as goethite and hematite influenced on a CH4 emission, which is crucial role as a CH4 oxidizers in paddy soil during a rice cultivation.
