Fatigue crack behavior and propagation law was investigated by the rotating bending test of 0.17% Carbon steel and high-frequency heat treatment materials. The main results obtained are as follows. (1) The Notch factor of micro slit Notched specimens is 1.16 for base metal, 1.08 for B series and 1.04 for C series. These fact show that Notch factor is effect of residual compressive stress. (2) Crack propagation law of equation (2) is applied in this experiment. The exponent of equation (2) n is 0.5. 3) The variation degree of m in dl/dN=C, ?, ? is 4.3 for A series, 2.5 for B series and 2.3 for C series. 4) Fatigue crack initiated in the grain and propagated intergranular and transgranular type. Especially crack propagation of C series is along the prior Austenite grain boundary.

The automation of measuring is advancing, keeping pace with automation technique in the field of working technalogy. There fore, this study deals with a basic experiment in which an air-micrometer was used as a measuring attachment without touching in order to measure quickly work-piece while being processed and to bring about smooth control automatically.

The abrasion of leadindg edge and trailing adge in grinder wheel width is not regular. I think it's natural in theoretically to experience this kind of situation in any grinding process. To verify this facts through experiment, I adopted the CROSS-FEES, which is the most appropriate to this kind of experiment. Width this results, I try to explaine grinding abrasion forms of grinding wheel.

以上 論한바 最近 先進國에서 發展되고 있는 電氣加工의 一部인 放電加工에 대하여 소개하였지만 이는 전기가공의 발달에 따라 방전가공기는 材料革命의 반영으로 도금가공이 press가공의 발달에 따라 그 일부의 모습을 감추어가고 있는것과 같이 cost만 해결된다면 일반적인 工作機械中 旋盤 Planer, Shaper, Drilling machine, Broching machine, Milling machine 等의 가공량의 상당한 감소는 물론 어너 시기에는 그 일부분의 工作機械는 모습을 감출시기가 오리라 생각된다.

I manage to search several problems which appear in the course of working work-piece with fixed precision degree in grinding operation, because the measure of wear quantity of grinder-wheel is very important. 1) I fixed working time, grinding quantity, and grinding width, the wear-quantity of grinder wheel is measured according to the increase of work-piece velocity. 2) Edge-shape of dresser, wear-behavior of grinder wheel, and wear quantiya are measured. 3) The change of heat-damage state from work-piece speed and the influence on the use of large or small flow-hole are studies.
