On the subjects of the female adults in their 20s who love to wear jeans, the wearing reality of basic jean pants and engineered jean pants was examined while pattern comparison and the evaluation of appearance and functions were made to reach the following conclusions: 1. Wearing reality of engineered jean pants Among the examined subjects, 74.8% were found out to favor engineered jean pants. Those who have engineered jean pants turned out to pursue well-known brands more than practicality. 2. Pattern comparison analysis of basic jean pants and engineered jean pants Though similar sizes existed in pants tips and belt width, engineered jean pants showed bigger values in waist circumference, crotch circumference, hip circumference, knee circumference, thigh circumference and so on. There were no big differences in the front part except for the items like crotch circumference and crotch length, but engineered jean pants had bigger sizes in the rear part. Engineered jeans in the rear contained the outward curved silhouette of the legs, curved tips, and a dart design instead of a back yoke. 3. Evaluation of appearance and functions In the scores of appearance, basic jean pants were higher at 3.65 in the order of front > side > back. On the contrary, engineered jean pants were excellent in the order of side > back > front. In the items of functions, engineered jean pants were higher at 4.23 in the order of hips > thighs> waist > abdomen > knee > crotch. On the other hand, basic jean pants showed the order of knee > crotch & thighs > abdomen > hips > waist. In every movement, engineered jean pants revealed higher functionality. In particular, the bigger physical movement led to the greater functional differences between the two kinds of jean pants.

With the subjects of male consumers in their 20s to 40s living in the Ningbo area in Zhejiang Province, this study aims to investigate into the reality of their purchase attitude and size fitness of ready-made suits. The results are as follows; Looking into their demographic characteristics, 70.6% of the subjects were twenties, 60.6% were single, and educational career stood in the order of college, middle school, and high school graduation. They were largely absorbed in free trade, followed by teaching, commerce and service industry. 59.6% of them were Zhejiang Province belongs. One to two thousand yuan was the greatest portion of their monthly income. As for their purchase attitude of ready-made suits, they thought higher of material, quality, activity, and solidity than of design. They preferred to buy clothes at a department store. There was significant difference between purchase frequency and purchase price according to monthly income and jobs. Concerning brand recognition, the Chinese subjects favored "Youngor." Though Korea`s brands were very lowly recognized, Korean products received really high recognition. Compared with China`s brands, they found foreign brands excellent in design, followed by material/matter, wear, and sewing. As to their physical satisfaction and the size fitness of clothes, most subjects felt happy with their sizes. Trousers and jackets were among the unfitting suit items, while the girth of waist was the least satisfactory size. Therefore, in order to raise the market occupation rate of Korean suit goods in China, more aggressive marketing strategies are required to utilize the current Korean-style entertainment and maximize concerning brand images. In particular, outstanding products in consideration of prices should be made through the proper patternmaking to reflect the body types of the Chinese.

This study were to grasp the present situation of the pet wear market and the problem of pet wear, and to develop the pet wear pattern which agrees well to dog`s shape and movements. We carried out survey research to analyze the actual pet wear market condition for a dog-lover, and movement analysis and sensory test to develop a pattern for Maltese which was the favorite dog among Korean. For data analysis, ANOVA with duncan test, T-test were conducted using SPSS statistic program(ver. 10.0). The results are as follows: 1. The results of the survey research, 75% of dog-lover had a pet wear and favorite was T-shirts. The problems of wearing T-shirts were ``too tight seam sleeve and bodice(front legs hole)``, ``the clothes easily hang down` and ``easily taken off due to large neck size``. 2. The ease amount of the developed pattern was given according to the results of dog`s shape and movement analysis, and the results of sensory test, there is a significant difference in the following items: depth of front neck line, front chest →abdomen curve, ease amount of sleeve, comfort level of leg parts. 3. The size of each parts of the developed pattern in this study were as follows : neck girth 27.0cm, body girth 40.0cm, back length 26.0cm, front leg girth 23.0cm, sleeve length 20.7cm, sleeve width 14.4cm. But, there exists some limits to generalize these results since dog`s body size and shapes are various according to dog species. Therefore, further studies are needed to develop each pet wear pattern for each dog species.
의복의 구속성에 관한 연구 (Ⅳ) : 슬랙스 착용시의 하지부 압박을 중심으로 Effect of Slacks Restraint on Lower Extremity
심부자,최선희 한국의류학회 1994 한국의류학회지 Vol.18 No.3
In this study, the restriction of slacks (blue jean) versus box pleats skirt was investigated, from the view point of peripheral blood flow at the toe according to motion variation and E. M.G. analysis of leg muscles after walking on the flat or going up and down stairways. Besides, the pressure of slacks on the lower extrimity was measured statically and dynamically. The main results were summerized as follows; 1. The clothing pressure applied by slacks was; each one of thigh and lower leg was 18.2 g/ cm² and 22.1 g/cm² in upright, 63.4 g/cm²and 26.6 g/cm² in sitting on the chair, on both sides of thigh and lower leg 272.0 g/cm2 over in squatting. 2. When the motion starts from upright, the dynamic clothing pressure reach their peak before the motions end. When the motion ends and the body comes to a still condition, the clothing pressure grow lower and indicate a constant value. but when the body starts moving again to return to upritht, the pressures once grow higher and go to zero value after reaching the peak. The pressure on the knee show much greater than those on the hip. This can be because these pressures depend on the degree of skin stretching motion and of its curvature. 3. The surface E.M.G. in leg muscles M. rectus femoris and M. gastrocnemius were recoreded. In the case of wearing slacks, two muscles were activated much more than wearing skirt. 4. The peripheral blood flow at the toe by wearing slacks was lower than wearing skirt. Also the case when squatting, the peripheral blood flow at the toe was low.

We studied relation between the clothing pressure applied by foundations(waist nipper, girdle, body suit) on the waist of bodies and muscular activity, feeling of tightness. The main results were summerized as follows ; 1. Clothing pressure applied by foundations was high in order of girdle>waist nipper>body suit, also clothing pressure was higher back than front and side, sitting on the chair than standing posture, ventral flection than repose. Individual differences, even if size of body was equal, were shown in clothing pressure applied by foundations with subcutaneous fat's amount in measuring region. 2. The muscular activity of rectus abdominis than obliquus extemus abdominis was more affected by foundations in all kinds of postures and motions. Amplitude of electromyogram was high sitting on the chair than standing posture, but there was little difference with motion variation. The wearing girdle strongly affected on the muscular activities of rectus abdominis and obliquus externus abdominis as compared with waist nipper and body suit. 3. The value for feeling of tightness by wearing waist nipper was higher than girdle and body suit. Also the case when sitting on the chair and ventral flection, the value for feeling of tightness was high. When the foundations were on the body, most tightened on the region of the body was anterior abdominal region. Key Words : restraint(구속성 ), clothing pressure(의복압), muscular activity(근활동), electromyogram ( 근전도 ), feeling of tightness( 구속감각)

For the advance of Korea`s ready-made clothes industry into China, we need some information about the body types of the Chinese and the sizes of ready-made clothes. The purpose of this study is to prepare basic data about the reality and process of the size establishment of clothing sizes in China. The conclusions are as follows: 1. Clothing size establishment was made three times in 1981, 1991, and 1997. At present, the version of `GB/T 1335-1997 Size` is used. 2. `GB/T 1335-1997 Size` was composed as follows. ① Based on the drop values of chest girth and waist girth, 4 (Y, A, B, C)body types of adult men and women were chosen. ② Sizes contains Ho and Hyoung, `Ho` refer to height (cm) and serve as the standard of length, while `Hyoung` indicate chest girth (cm) and act as the standard of girth. ③ The size divisions of the 3 basic items for adults are 5cm (height), 4cm (chest girth), and 2cm (waist girth). So they are named `5 · 4, 5 · 2 size series`. ④ For grading in dress production, approximate values to the means of the 2 basic items are called `center types`. ⑤ Other necessary items for clothing design besides 3 basic items are named `control items`. ⑥ For babies, children, and adolescents, no body type classification is established. Instead, size series are established according to body height.
