온라인 플립 러닝(Flipped Learning)기반 한국어 읽기 교육 방안 연구

이 연구는 외국인 유학생의 읽기 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 수업방법을 모색하기 위해 기존의 플립 러닝 방법을 수정, 보완한 온라인 플립 러닝 기반 한국어 읽기 수업 모형을 제안하였다. 학문 목적 한국어 학습자들이 읽기 수업에서 겪는 어려움의 요인은 고급수준에 속하는 한국어 능력의 부족뿐만 아니라 교재에서 배우는 읽기 자료에 대한 정보 부족도 문제가 된다. 온라인 플립 러닝은 전통적인 교실수업과는 달리 개별화 학습과 협동학습을 통해 학습자의 효율적인 학습능력향상이라는 중대한 효과를 가져 오게 된다. 온라인 플립 러닝 기반 한국어 읽기 수업 모형의 대상 강좌는 <한국어 읽기 수업>이고, 대상자는 S대학교 학부대학 외국인 유학생으로 총 65명이다. 온라인 플립 러닝 기반 한국어 읽기 수업은 읽기 수업 전 단계(사전 강의), 읽기 수업 단계(본 강의), 읽기 수업 후 단계(사후 강의)의 세 단계로 나누어 진행하였고, 온라인 플립 러닝에 대한 학습자들의 수업 만족도를 알아보기 위해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 학습자들의 수업 만족도 조사를 통해 전통적인 강의 형식의 수업보다 학습자 중심의 온라인 플립 러닝 기반 한국어 읽기 수업이 효과적임을 밝혀냈다. 현재 대학에 입학한 외국인 유학생들은 한국어 능력이 부족하고 전공과목에 대한 지식이 부족하여 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 학습자 개개인의 능력과 숙달도에 따라 한국어 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안이 필요한 시점에서 온라인 플립 러닝기반 한국어 읽기 교육 방안은 새로운 방안을 제시했다는 점에서 의미가 있다고 본다. In this study, we propose a flipped learning based Korean reading class model to explore methods of improving foreign students’ reading ability of the Korean language. The difficulties that Korean language learners face in reading classes include a lack of not only advanced Korean language skills but also information on reading materials learned in textbooks. Unlike traditional classroom approaches, the online flipped learning method significantly improves learners’ ability to learn efficiently through personalized and cooperative learning. The Korean Language Reading Class of S university comprising 65 foreign students was subjected to the online flipped learning based Korean reading class model, which was implemented in three stages: pre-reading class, reading class, post-reading class. Further, a survey was conducted to determine learners’ satisfaction with the online flipped learning approach. The survey found that online flipped learning based Korean reading classes provided a learner-centered approach and were more effective than traditional lecture-type classes. Currently, foreign students who enroll at universities in Korea are constrained by a lack of Korean language skills and knowledge of major subjects. The proposed online flipped learning based Korean reading education plan offers a meaningful solution at a time when individual learners need to find methods to improve their Korean language skills according to their ability and proficiency.
