재미 한글학교의 발전적 방향에 대한 연구 -재미 한글학교 교사 대상 포커스그룹인터뷰를 중심으로-

본 연구의 목적은 재미 한글학교가 당면한 시대적 변화를 파악하고 이와 관련한 재미 한글학교 교사들의 의견을 수집하여, 향후 재미 한글학교가 나아갈 발전적 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 질적 연구 방법의 하나인 포커스그룹인터뷰(focus group interview, FGI)를 활용하였으며, 인터뷰를 통해 현지에서 오랫동안 한글학교에 몸담아 온 교사들의 경험에서 나오는 통찰적 견해를 수집하였다. 재미한글학교가 대면한 급변하는 시대적 변화를 세 가지로 정리할 수 있는데, 내부적으로 ‘재미동포의 세대교체’, 거주국 미국의 정책적 변화로 ‘현지 대학 입시에서 한국어 과목 폐지’, 모국인 한국의 자국어 보급 정책으로 ‘세종학당의 미국 진출’이 그것이다. 인터뷰를 통하여, 이러한 변화들이 한글학교에 실제적으로 미치는 영향들을 파악하였으며, 이러한 배경 속에서 한글학교가 나아갈 발전적 방향을 논의하였는데 그 내용은 다음과 같다. 우선, 세대교체로 인한 다양한 학습자와 그 동기에 대처할 수 있는 내용과 시스템 구축하고 순발력 있게 대처해야 하며, 다음으로, 입시 준비반의 폐지로 한글학교를 떠나는 청소년 재미동포들에게 다양한 경험을 제공할 수 있는 커뮤니티 스쿨로 거듭나야 하고, 마지막으로 세종학당의 추진사업들과 연계해서 한글학교 교사들의 오랜 경험을 활용될 수 있도록 교사 역량 증진에 힘써야 한다. The purpose of this study is to identify the changes of the times that Korean schools in America are facing, and to collect the opinions of teachers of Korean schools in the United States in this regard, and to find the direction for future development of Korean schools in the United States. For this purpose, focus group interview (FGI), one of the qualitative research methods, was used, and through the interviews, insightful views from the experiences of teachers who have been at Korean schools for a long time were collected. The rapidly changing times faced by Korean language schools in the United States can be summarized into three categories: ‘generational change of Korean Americans’ internally, ‘abolition of Korean language courses in local university entrance exams’ due to policy changes in the US, and dissemination of the native language of Korea. The policy is ‘King Sejong Institute’s entry into the US’. Through the interview, the practical effects of these changes on the Korean language school were identified, and the development direction of the Korean language school was discussed in the background. The contents are as follows. First, it is necessary to build a content and system that can cope with various learners and their motives due to generational change and to respond promptly. Second, the abolition of the entrance exam preparation class can provide various experiences to young Koreans in the United States who are leaving the Korean language school. It should be reborn as a community school that has a place for it, and lastly, in connection with the projects promoted by King Sejong Institute, efforts should be made to improve teacher competency so that the long experience of Korean language school teachers can be utilized.

한국어 교육에서 문식성 교육방안에 대한 연구 동향 -주제 범위 문헌 고찰 The Scoping Review-

한국어교육의 목표인 의사소통 능력의 함의가 외연적으로 확장됨에 따라, 한국어 문식성 교육방안에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 한국어 문식성 교육방안에 대한 연구 동향을 파악하여 향후 연구의 기초자료를 마련하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 총 49편의 학술논문을 대상으로 주제 범위 문헌 고찰 방법을 적용하여 연구의 양상과 그 성과를 살펴보았다. 그 결과를 연구 시기별, 연구 대상별, 문식성 유형별로 분류하면 다음과 같다. 2009년 첫 연구 발표 이래 한국어 문식성 교육방안 연구는 2020년을 기점으로 큰 폭의 양적 증가가 있었고, 다문화 학습자와 학문 목적 학습자를 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 문식성 유형별로는 문화적 문식성 교육방안에 연구가 가장 많았고, 미디어 문식성 교육방안에 연구가 바짝뒤를 이었다. 앞으로의 한국어 문식성 교육 연구는 더욱 다양한 대상과 문식성 유형을 바탕으로 수행될 필요가 있다. 본고의 분석 결과가 향후 연구의 초석으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. As the meaning of communication ability, which is the goal of Korean language education, has expanded outwardly, interest in Korean literacy education plans is increasing. Therefore, the purpose of this paper was to prepare primary data for future research by grasping research trends on Korean literacy education plans. To this end, the research pattern and its results were examined by applying the scoping review method to a total of 49 academic papers. The results are classified by study period, subject, literacy type, and research method as follows. Research on the educational method of literacy has increased significantly in quantity since 2020, and research on multicultural and academic learners was most actively conducted. By type of literacy, research on cultural literacy education plans was the most common, followed closely by research on media literacy education plans. Literature research was the majority, and empirical research was relatively insufficient. The results of this study are significant as a cornerstone for future research on Korean literacy education plans.
