Recently, many ECUs(Electronic Control Units) have been used to increase the vehicle safety, which leads to a distributed control system. The distributed control system is required to reduce the network delay for dependable real time performance. But ECU's increasing will be caused by network traffic. So, network traffic reducing is required to transmit messages in the real time. This paper focuses on a event-triggered protocol, i.e. CAN(Controller Area Network) that is being used more widely. This paper presents a network traffic predictor, which is used a dual CAN network, using double exponential smoothing.

Recently, many ECUs(Electronic Control Units) have been used to increase the vehicle safety, which leads to a distributed control system. The distributed control system is required to reduce the network delay for dependable real time performance. There are two different paradigms by which a network protocol operates: event-triggered and time-triggered. This paper focuses on a time-triggered protocol, i.e. TTP(Time-Triggered Protocol)/C that is being used more widely. This paper presents a design method of TTP protocol and performance evaluation of distributed control system using TTP protocol.

In order to implement various intelligent functions and to reduce weight and required space. automobile industry now begins to introduce by-wire technology to many critical subsystems of a car. One of these attempts is brake-by-wire system where the traditional hydraulic mechanism is replaced by electro-mechanical brake(EMB) and in-vehicle network. This paper presents an EMB design for low-speed electric vehicle such as golf cart. It employs an electric motor and an electric magnet along with CAN modules and network to carry braking signals.
