Vol.18 No.4

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of exercise on oxidative stress, production of lipid peroxidation and glucose tolerance in C57BL/KS/J-db/db mice Hippocampus. Thirty male C57BL/KS/J-db/db mice (weighing 22-26 g) were divided into sedentary groups (CON; n=10), low intensity exercise groups (UEG; n=10), and high intensity exercise groups (HIEG; n=10) at the age of 6 weeks. LIEG composed of mices which ran on a treadmill at a speed of 10m/min, 30 min/day, 5 days a week, for 8 weeks. HIEG composed of mices which ran a treadmill at a speed of 16 m/min, 30 min/day, 5 days a weeks, for 8 weeks. The exercise groups were adapted to the treadmill run for 5 days. After 8 weeks of treadmill exercise, plasma glucose and glucose tolerance test, SOD, CAT, GPx, MDA in the hippocampus were measured. Alter treadmill exercise, The SOD, GPx, MDA activities of hippocampus were significantly (p < 0.05) higher in both LIEG and HIEG when compared to Control. and than CAT activities was no significant difference among the groups. Plasma glucose levels was significantly (p < 0.05) lower in both LIEG and HIEG when compared to Control. As a result, we propose that chronic treadmill exercise do not cause oxidant stress in type 2 diabetic rat hippocampus. These results indicate that chronic exercise playa beneficial antioxidant role in reducing the lipid peroxidant enhanced by improvement of glucose tolerance in type 2 diabetic rat hippocampus.

        현광석(Gwang Suk Hyun) 한국사회체육학회 2002 한국사회체육학회지 Vol.18 No.2

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the supplementation of vitamin C, E into the body affect the antioxidant enzymes(SOD, CAT) after submaximal exercise. The subjects of this study were woman high school`s female soccer player(n=12). Subject was divided into supplementation group(n=6) and placebo group(n=6). Duration of antioxidant supplement was 8 weeks. Blood samples was drawn from antecubital vein at post immediate and at 15min recovery after submaximal exercise. The results of this study were as follows, First, Hemoglobin SOD activity was siginificantly increased at the time of post immediate and at the 15min recovery after vitamin supplementation, but placebo group was not significant. Second, Hemoglobin CAT activity was siginificantly increased at the time of post immediate and at the 15min recovery after vitamin supplementation, but placebo group was not significant.

        박정민(Park, Jeong-Min),현광석(Hyun, Gwang-Suk) 한국체육과학회 2016 한국체육과학회지 Vol.25 No.5

This study aimed to provide fundamental data contributing to archery performance improvement and stabilization of shooting posture in archers by examining the influence of Respiratory muscles training with core stability exercises on pulmonary function and static balance. Twenty voluntary subjects (10 exercise, 10 control) with an understanding toward the aims of this study were selected and their physical composition, pulmonary function and static balance abilities, before and after the Respiratory muscles training with core stabilization program, were measured. As for the pulmonary function ability, there were significant differences between pre- and post-values in the exercise group after completing the Respiratory muscles training with core stabilization program. In the aspect of comparisons between post-values in both groups, there were significant improvements in only the exercise group. As for the static balance ability, there were significant differences between pre- and post-values in the exercise group. Meanwhile, in the aspect of comparisons between post-values in both groups, there were significant improvements in up(U), right(R), down(D), and left(L) of the exercise group. The study results indicate that the Respiratory muscles training with core stabilization exercise program is effective in improving the pulmonary function and balance abilities of archers. However, there is a need for more specific exercise programs to be developed for the continual improvement of athletic performance in archers along with further studies to confirm the physiological benefits of those programs.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of core stability exercises on the counter balance and dynamic balance ability of tennis club members and to provide the basic data for developing the training methods for improving the athletic performance and injury prevention through physical imbalance. METHODS: In order to achieve these goals, 12 subjects who are currently registered as a player in the having 5 years or more athletic career. As a result of observing improvements on counter balance and dynamic balance ability using the core stability exercises, the following conclusion was derived. RESULTS: As for the counter balance ability, there were no significant differences between pre- and post-values in the exercise group after completing the core stabilization program. As for the dynamic balance ability, there were significant differences between pre- and post-values in the exercise group, except for down (D) postures, whereas, there were no changes or decreases between pre- and post-values in the control group after completing the core stabilization program. Meanwhile, in the aspect of comparisons between post-values in both groups, there were significant improvements in up-right (UR), right (R), down-right (DR), down/left (DL), left (L), up/left (UL) and overall dynamic scores (OVE) of the exercise group. In the aspect of comparisons between post-values in both groups, there were significant improvements in only the exercise group. CONCLUSIONS: When concluding the results of this study, it was found that core stability exercises was an effective exercise in the improvement of counter balance and dynamic balance ability of tennis club members. In addition, in order to have precise and stable movements through stabilization of position improvement of physical imbalance, it is thought to require a suitable training development for tennis club members along with repetitive training.
