마리아 루이사 봄발의 「마지막 안개」에 나타난 억압된 여성 욕망

The purpose of this study is to re-read Maria Luisa Bombal's text, La dltima niebla. She has been regarded as a female novelist who has denied the form of realistic fiction and presented new prospect of Avan-gard aesthetics since she published La u´ltima niebla in 1935. The main stream of Bombal's narrative is to represent the internal conflict among women who are restrained as the "Others" of Latin American patriarchy. In the text La u´ltima niebla, the author denounces the inexistence of communication and the conflict and tragedy, which never reach a compromise, between women and men of Latin America through introducing the married life of the narrator, who doesn't show his own name. The narrator, who fries to adopt inexistence of love as the Regulations, and Daniel, who got married, let women come to be estrangement and Others. The narrator with these devices plans to escape from the reality recognizing the truth through the life of two women. A dead girl and Regina made the narrator recognize her situation as the other and she tried to escape from stifling in reality. She encounters a love. The lover, who appears, seems to be satisfied with realization of her own desire. And the lover comes to have reason of her own existence. Her love affair, however, was only day-dreaming although she denied the fact very strongly. Maria Luisa Bombal denounces that Latin-american patriarchy excludes and oppresses women, and deprives women of the power to change the world. Bombal points out the dilemma between women's internal desire and conventional.
