타문화 커뮤니케이션 : 울산장로교회 베트남 이주민의 사역을 중심으로

본 논문은 한국의 울산지역에 사는 베트남 사람들에 대한 사역의 일환으로 특히 울산 장로교회 안에서 베트남인들을 위한 특수사역과 관련하여 타문화커뮤니케이션의 경우를 다루고 있다. 따라서 이 연구의 목적은 울산에 있는 베트남인들과 커뮤니케이션을 갖는데 있어서 실제 사역의 경험을 토대로 분석과 평가를 통해 사역의 효율성을 진전시키려는데 있다. 또한 한국에 있는 외국인 숫자를 통계로 보면 세 번째로 많은 외국인들이 베트남 사람들이다. 베트남에서나 한국에서도, 시간과 노력 및 재정을 투자하는 교회나 선교사들이 있음에도 불구하고, 커뮤니케이션에 있어서 많은 차이점이 있음을 인식하지 못해서, 그들의 사역이 열매를 얻지 못하고 때로는 실망감을 주기도 한다. 특히 복음을 전하는데 있어서 한국으로 온 베트남 이주민들과 상호 인간관계를 갖는데 있어서, 비언어적 행동, 선경험, 기존의 행위, 신념 및 인식 등과 같이 분명 여러 장애요소들이 있을 것이지만 이를 잘 인식한다면 충분히 극복하고 타문화 커뮤니케이션의 관점에서 접근해 갈 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 그 나라의 문화를 연구하고, 커뮤니케이션과 의사결정과 연관된 다른 문화적 행위를 연구하고, 상황의 언어를 심도있게 이해하고 아는 것이 중요하다는 것을 마음을 두어야 한다 The author would like to address the issue of cross cultural communication with a specific case study of foreigners` ministry of Ulsan Presbyterian Church to Vietnamese people in Ulsan metropolitan city. Upon this case study, the purpose of the paper is aiming at evaluation and reflection on the practical experiences in terms of cross cultural communication for the Vietnamese in Ulsan area. According to the current statistics taken by Korean Immigration Service(KIS), Vietnamese migrant population in South Korea is the third largest group of foreigners. In Vietnam as well as in Korea, there are certain churches and missionaries who, though investing their great effort in terms of time, labor, and finance; have failed in recognition of these dissimilarities, and thus, their ministry becomes unfruitful, even frustrated. There are certain obstacles in communication of the Gospel cross culturally to realize and overcome for interpersonal interaction with Vietnamese migrant groups. Those obstacles could be non-verbal behavior, prior experiences and preexisting attitudes, beliefs, or perceptions as well. And it needs to keep in mind, “acquire culture knowledge by studying national cultures; study role behaviors of different cultures relative to communication and decision making; know and have an in-depth understanding of the language of context.”
