A driveway adjacent to an signalized intersection effects the operation of the signalized intersection. To investigate in detail, the vehicle making a right turn into and out of the driveway on the signalized intersection approach may reduce saturation flow rates on the approach by interfering with the normal queue discharge in the curb lane. The exiting guidelines for evaluating the signalized intersection such as "Highway Capacity Manual" does not consider the effect of driveway on the intersection. The objective of this paper is to develop an adjustment factor for the driveway traffic near the signalized intersections. In study, the effect of driveways on the signalized intersections was analyzed and, a method of producing the adjustment factor for driveway through field studies was conducted. The achievements of this study are as follows; ⅰ)to investigate the effect of driveway traffic on saturation flow rates ⅱ)to develop the methodlogy of detarmining the adjustment factor for the driveway traffic and, ⅲ)to calculating the adjustment, factor for the driveways through the field studies at the signalized intersections.
