‘동사화 실험’으로 본 현대건축 디자인방법론에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to clarify common phenomena that are used in the design methodology of contemporary architecture. This study defines these phenomena as 'Verbalization Experiment'. It is the concept for the experiment constructing design based on the art will and the material possibility. It is carried out by adding verb-action stimulating the material possibility designer`s own notion decides. The constructed design results are classified as form construction, skin construction, circulation construction and program organization. 'Verbalization Experiment' has the significance and possibility as new diagram, process-concept in contemporary architectural design methods. It is also possible to make verb-list for experiment, and it enables active participation of designers and user in the process of 'Verbalization Experiment' in the future.

This study investigates the relationship between brand images and commercial buildings designed by arehiteets. In commercial spaces, arehiteets use minimal form. spatial flexibility. spansion of program and transparency for the elements of the design methodology to express brand images. Therefore the result of this study shows that "brand." arehitecture is closely related to soeety. culture and city. anal it heightens the identity of brands.

The color in architecture has been actively used in design process through the various expression techniques these days. this study investigates the meaning and use of color in arehitecture. The result of this study shows that the meaning of color formulation in arehitecture can be categorized as conceptual. programmatic. contextual and decorational expressions. and these are simultaneously shown in arehitectural works.

The purpose of this study is to search for values and meanings of everydayness as a design concept by organizing concepts of "everydayness" shown in contemporary architecture and systematically describing its characteristics through various analysis methods. "Eerydayness" shown in contemporary architecture is defined and the criteria of case study are suggested, so that characteristics of everyday can be identified by systematically classifying and analyzing the Japanese cases in order to find the values and meanings of everydayness. The findings of this study are as follows: first, materials that show users" everydayness has indefinite potential as an element of architecture concept, and they play the role of communication and sympathy between architecture and users; second, implementation of everydayness leads to design emergence; third, everydayness can be widely applied to architecture; fourth, everydayness can be implemented regardless of architecture uses. In conclusion, the value of everydayness in contemporary architecture is that it draws user-based diverse and fresh architectural expressions that lead to opulent designs. To users, everydayness improves satisfaction of life gained from architecture and provides rich life environment because it changed common human life to a form of art.

This study is focused on the tendency of transaction in contemporary architecture which is based on John Dewey's meaning of transaction. Transaction is a kind of action between individual and situations which surround the individual. In other word, it is the activity generating the effect through the medium of external situation. However the concept of transaction is able to be interpreted in the object as well as human being. There are three meanings of transaction. First is the mutual organic relation, second is synthetic cognition and the last is the emergent event. These meanings are used as an analytical tool to understand contemporary architecture. The factors of contemporary architecture can be classified into user, environment, building. Each factor obtains the mutual organic relation and exchanges the effects. Also Each factor is recognized each other on the whole context. So this relationship and recognition can be analyzed the event. In conclusion, the relationship between each factor of contemporary architecture is not simply interaction but transaction since the experience of architecture is continuously changing and becomes a new one.

This study attempts to find out the structure of thinking in the architectural design process through analyzing Gilles Deleuze's 'abstract machine'. For this discussion, the notion and principle of abstract machine are reinterpreted by his semantics. Consequently, it makes a potential field of meaning by the serialization of arbitrary elements and its process is regarded as abstraction. Therefore, the architectural design process can be a redefining process from the relations among architectural elements to the relations between construction and representation. It can also be classified as three levels: formal, realistic, substantial. This discourse of abstraction can not be only the theoretical analysis on the architectural design process but practical effect: negation of causality, amplification of creative thinking, formation of unified consistency.

The relationship between architects and users has been multifarioiusly changed through architectural history. From the viewpoint of using a building, users who experience and interpret the building are as important as architects who design it. In the past, architects are not interested in the role of users. Modern architects only emphasized the concepts of users based on efficiency, and therefore users had the passive role following the design intentions in the space architects had created. However, since the end of modern movement, diverse definitions of users have been attempted. Especially the aesthetics of reception reilluminates the role of users neglected in modern movement. Therefore the one-way relationship between architects-buildings are changing into the interactive relationship between architects-buildings-users, and it results from the fact that users have the ability to reinterpret and create architectural space as well. Users have more creative and positive role in architectural space making and architects, too, reflect these trend in their architecture.

And we suggest that Typological classification of Office Layouts based on Organization Theories.

The core of culturenomics which emerges as a new tool for urban regeneration is to utilize culture as resources for the improvement and development of existing cities. They are creative fusion of culture and industry, commercialization of culture, creative differentiation through culture, and with them economic interest is expected and complex and related strategies are applied. The purpose of this study is to propose the physical improvement and reinforcement methods of Mullae-dong specialized district, and the value of the district and the possibility of culturenomics. It means that the competitiveness of a city changes from economic competitiveness to cultural competitiveness, and the meaning of the regeneration of this district is not the removal and rebirth of the past but the maintenance and preservation of the traditional identity and self-generating change, and the approval of a community of cultural diversity. Once a cultural signifier with local historicity is proposed as a program accompanied by continuous economic interest, the methodological possibility of useful urban regeneration can be verified.
