초등학교 기간제 교사의 학교에서의 삶에 관한 문화기술적 연구

본 연구는 현재 학교교육에서의 비중이 날로 커지고 있는 기간제 교사에 대한 이해를 돕는데 그 목적을 두고, 기간제 교사의 학교에서의 삶과 문화를 심층적으로 분석해보려는 시도를 해보았다. 한 초등학교의 기간제 교사들을 대상으로 참여관찰과 심층면담 중심의 문화기술적 연구를 수행하였으며, 이를 통해 그들의 삶과 문화에 대한 특징들을 유형화하고 현상을 파악해보고자 하였다. 본 연구결과, 기간제 교사의 삶과 문화의 주요 특징으로는 “교사가 되어보기”, “구분 없이 살아가기”, “자격지심 갖기”, “기간제 교사로 살아남기”, “교사로 성장해가기” 등이 있는데, 기간제 교사는 꿈꿔오던 교사가 되어서 정규교사들과 구분 없이 어울리며 살아가지만, 정규직이 아니라는 상황에서 발생하는 자격지심과 불안감을 느끼기도 한다. 그리고 이러한 삶 속에서 많은 것을 배우고 느끼며 교사로서 성장해가고 있는 것으로 나타났다. This research began with recognition for the need to comprehend period-limit teachers who's part in the education system is growing rapidly. During this study, we've performed ethnographical research focused on participant observation and in-depth interviews to an elementary school's period-limit teachers. We've attempted to find distinctive features and understand the current status of their school lives and schooling cultures. Result of this study revealed that some distinctive features such as “experiecing life of a teacher”, “mingle with regular teachers”, “inferiority complex”, “Surviving as a period-limit teacher”, “growing as a teacher”, etc. existed in the school life and schooling cultures of period-limit teachers. The results show that even though the period-limit teachers are living their dream of becoming a teacher along with regular teachers, the period-limit teachers also feel anxiety and experience inferiority complexes due to their statuses. They also learn and develop as teachers.
