AEB and FCW has a certain function which could warn or intervene with break if a crash is expected by sensing objects on the road with camera, radar, rider, etc. In EuroNCAP, assessment protocol of this test is renewing. However, there have been suspicious malfunctioning accidents of automobiles, which were already certified on AEB, FCW capability verification assessment. A structure and shape of the standard dummy for car-to-person is specifically defined in ISO regulation, however, its clothes and condition are defined roughly. Therefore, there could be differences in detection levels depending on the color of an object and reflection condition as an object acknowledgement method with a camera is mainly used. To see detection level depending on the color of the dummy’s clothes, a camera was installed in front of the car and the background and object were set as binary-coded applying critical point. The movement traits of FCW and AEB depending on additional colors of the standard dummy besides the general colors were analyzed. Through this research, relations between the color of the dummy’s clothes and detection level in FCW and AEB capability were found.

In this paper, we study the response time according to the sensitivity of ACC function in automated driving technology. Research is actively conducted to get confidence in autonomous driving of passengers. In order to reduce the rider’s concern about automated driving technology, it is necessary to show a linear relationship according to the setting mode. Accordingly, the scenario selected cut-in and cut-out scenarios to reflect the situation in which the driver may feel anxious. In addition, vehicle tests were conducted on the responsive mode and distance level that the driver can set. Experimental results show the nonlinear relationship of the follow-up response with sensitivity as a result of measuring the delay time of the response time.

Advanced safety devices typically include AEBS and FCWS functions, and these functions are known to be effective in preventing accidents. As a result, laws and regulations that mandate the installation of these functions are being enforced around the world. Research to prepare inspection technology and inspection standards for this is being actively conducted. Therefore, in this paper, we find the normal operating range of the corresponding function through actual vehicle tests on several vehicles. We analyze data using Box-Plot and present inspection standards that can be applied uniformly.

Adaptive Driving Beam is an automobile’s lighting system which could coordinate strongness and direction depending on driving conditions and it was announced in 2022 at NHTSA to evaluate ADB capability quantitatively as a test protocol. To proceed the test as the order of ADB test protocol curve test road marked with lane of test scenario is needed. However there was a problem of low credibility and repeatability because a driver should drive after checking the lane with his(her) naked eyes. This problem was found through the data analysis of IIHS test which is similar with ADB. To solve this problem this paper proposes a test method which could increase credibility and repeatability about the result of ADB test through an accurate course traveling based on imaginary lane by using a GPS sensor and a steering robot. As a result of applying the proposed test method, the fact that the curve driving is possible without constructing any lane of test site was found and the test credibility and repeatability could be checked through the course error and standard deviation.
