Hybrid and electric vehicles adopt electric motor driven system using rechargeable battery compared to conventional vehicles. These vehicles are eco- friendly les because of no fuel consumption. These chargeable vehicles using alternative power train driven by electric motor need high efficient thermal management system in battery system in high temperature status on going charging and discharging operation . To maintain proper temperature status in battery system, BCS(Battery Cooling System) is adopted. BCS is composed of BLDC motor, inverter, sirocco type wheel and BLWR. Unit and the operating noise of BCS located under the trunk makes NVH problem in vehicle. In this paper, FEA(Finite Element Analysis) and experiment are performed for analyzing NVH characteristics of BCS , verify the noise source of BCS and propose the noise reduced design for BCS NVH problem.

Aluminum brazing heat exchangers can be used at high temperature and pressure conditions. So it has been widely used in automotive engine cooling system with excellent performance. However, it has the potential to cause failure from large thermal loads and it may be give adversely affects to the system at the structural point of view. Therefore analyzing behavior characteristics and failure mode under extreme operating conditions are very important for heat exchanger design and manufacturing. In this paper, dynamic strain is measured at the predicted points of failure using electric resistance type strain gage. An infrared thermal imaging camera and thermo-couple sensors are used to measure gradient and changing of temperature as time goes by. Therefore, material behavior characteristics at the point of failure are analyzed from measured strain and temperatures during the thermal cycle test. Furthermore, serge and core-plugging phenomenon that affect the durability is observed.
