        전자펜 기반 편측시각무시(UVN) 환자 검사 및 재활치료 시스템

        Assessment and rehabilitation of patients with unilateral visual neglect has been one of the fields that require assistive technology. Paper-and-pencil tests, including the LBT (Line Bisection Test), have been one of the most commonly used visual neglect assessment methods used in a clinical setting. The key motivation of this study was to establish a computer-based real-time assessment system for the hemi-neglect patients without altering the conventional paper-and-pencil based user tools. A digital penbased assessment and rehabilitation system, the ePen System, could eliminate the manual assessment time while maintaining measurement accuracy. As a result, the proposed system may assist rehabilitation specialists to assess and diagnose patients with unilateral visual neglect. This system can be applied to a range assessment and rehabilitation modalities based on a pen and paper. It can also be applied to various patients such as those with Parkinson’s disease, stroke sufferers, or those who have experienced different forms of brain lesions.

        무선 센서를 활용한 요추 가동 범위의 실시간 3차원 측정

        Lumber spine range of motion has been used to measure of physical and functional impairment by various tools from a ruler to 3D kinematic devices. However, pre-existing tools have problems in either movement or accuracy and reliability limitations. Accurate devices are limited by fixed space whereas simple devices are limited in measuring complex movements with less accuracy. In order to solve the location, movement and accuracy limitations at once, we have developed a novice measurement device equipped with accelerometer sensor and gyroscope sensor for getting three-dimensional information of motion. Furthermore, Kalman filter was applied to the algorithm to improve accuracy. In addition, RF wireless communication was added for the user to conveniently check measured data in real time. Finally, the measurement method was improved by considering the movement by a reference point. An experiment was conducted to test the accuracy and reliability of the device by conducting a test-retest reliability test. Further modification will be conducted to used the device in various joints range of motion in clinical settings in the future.

        남성 노인의 상하지 근육량에 따른 골감소증 유병률 비교분석

        PURPOSE: Bone mineral density (BMD) is known to diminish with aging. Despite numerous studies done on aging females, a limited number of studies have been published to elucidate cause of lowered BMD in elderly males. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship of the appendicular muscle mass to osteopenia in elderly Korean males. METHODS: Data for 873 men (60≥age≥79) from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2010-2011 were included. Bone mineral density results (g/cm<SUP>2</SUP>) were used to divide the subjects in to the osteopenia and control groups for comparison of muscle masses of the whole body (WB), upper limb (UL), and lower limb (LL). The muscle masses were further classified into 4 quartiles (Q) to calculate the odd ratios (OR) of osteopenia in the lumbar spine (LS) and femoral neck (FN) areas. RESULTS: Muscle masses were significantly less in all areas of WB, UL, and LL. The sarcopenia incidence rates increased as the muscle mass decreased in WB, UL, and LL in both LS and FN areas. Fourth Quartiles of WB and LL showed greatest OR of 3.55 and 2.76. Although the muscle mass ratio showed less significance, WB, UL, and LL showed increasing tread of OR, especially in the FN area. CONCLUSIONS: The overall increase in muscle mass may reduce the incidence rate of the osteopenia. Moreover, the lower appendicu-lar muscle mass may reduce osteopenia in the lumbar spine and femoral neck in the elderly males.
