중국은 지리적으로 한반도와 가장 가까이 인접해 있는 국가로서 예로부터 현재에 이르기까지 한반도와 긴밀한 관계를 유지하고 있다. 중국과 한반도 사이 문화교류와 협력의 관계는 약 3천 여 년의 역사를 가지고 있다. 제2차 세계대전 이후 동서냉전의 영향으로 말미암아 한국과 중국 사이에는 근 40여 년 동안이나 모든 공식적인 외교관계와 교류가 중단되었다. 그러나 1970년대에 들어서면서 적대관계에 처해 있던 한?중관계는 점차 개선되기 시작하였으며 1992년 수교를 계기로 양국의 관계는 비약적인 진전을 이루었다. 전 세계적인 범위의 냉전이 종식되고 글로벌 지구촌으로 발전하는 현 시점에서 한국과 중국 양국 사이의 교류와 협력은 날로 확대되고 있으며 그 영향력도 점차 커지고 있다. 그러나 모든 국가 간의 관계가 그러하듯 한국과 중국 양국 간 관계발전 과정에도 적지 않은 문제점이 노출되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 한?중 외교관계 정상화 이전의 한국의 대 중국외교정책과 중국의 대 한국외교정책 및 그 변화 과정을 고찰해 보고 아울러 양국 외교관계 정상화를 실현할 수 있었던 원인을 규명한 후, 정상화 이후 양국 간 우호 협력의 외교관계의 성과를 살펴보고자 한다. 동시에 양국 간 현재 나타나고 있는 문제점을 짚어본 후 그 원인도 규명할 것이다. 끝으로 향후 협력과 평화적 발전의 새로운 한?중관계의 설정을 위한 건설적인 방안을 모색하고자 한다. China, as the nation which is the most contiguous from the Korean Peninsula geographically, has been maintaining a close relationship with each other since the ancient years. The cultural exchanges and cooprative relationship between China and the Korean Peninsula have a nealy 3000-year-long history. As a result of the Cold War between East and West after the World War II, all the official diplomatic relations and intercommunications between Korea and China were discontinued by opposition of ideology for nearly 40 years. However, Korean-Sino relationship of hostility has started being improved gradually since 1970s. The Korean and Chinese government attempted to reconcile with escaping from the yoke of ideology gradually, and accomplished the normalization of diplomatic relations in 1992. Currently, the whole world having been developing into a globe village since the end of the Cold War, exchanges and cooperations between Korea and China has been expanded day by day, and the influence also is becoming larger and larger. Nevertheless, many problems are exposed in the developmnetal process of Korean-Sino relationship just as any relationship of nations is. For that reason, this paper gives an investigation on the foreign policy for China of Korea, foreign policy for Korea of China and respective changing process before the normalization of Korean-Sino diplomatic relationship. In this process, after clarifying the reason for the reach of normalization of diplomatic relations between two countries, this paper also provides an overview of the achievement of Korean-Sino diplomatic relationship after normalization. Meanwhile, after showing current problems between two countries, this paper tries to decribe the reason for them. Finally, this paper explores construtive solutions to a new Korean-Sino relationship of cooperation and peaceful develoment in future.
