        Unlike the driver, the monitor positioned at the center armrest of the vehicle has to be able to operate conveniently because the user sitting on the back seat uses the multimedia and vehicle functions for a longer time, It is an element of emotional quality. The tilting function that can adjust the viewing angle of the monitor plays an important role. When the armrest is lowered down or in the operating state, the monitor should be in the user’s viewing direction, and when the armrest is folded up, the function of the console module should be deactivated in order to prevent malfunctioning. Therefore, in this paper, we describe the function to detect motion or impact by attaching a 3-axis acceleration sensor to the console module with touch LCD monitor, and present the test result to the actual vehicle seat.

      • SBW 위치 검출을 위한 보정 알고리즘 적용

        Among the shifting systems of the vehicle, a shift-by-wire (SBW) type is applied so that the shifting lever and the transmission determine themselves by communication so that the shifting lever cannot be shifted under certain circumstances and prevent accidents. Due to durability issues, this SBW uses a non-contact sensor when detecting gear position, and errors in assembly, parts, and noise are inevitable in the angle of rotation and the angle measured by the sensor. Considering the characteristics of SBW with a limited range of rotation angles, it is recommended to apply a calibration algorithm that can minimize this angle error. The Lagrange interpolation method can be said to be suitable because it obtains an equation for a curve that passes all specified points. Therefore, we will present the results of experiments on how accurate the value corrected by this algorithm is and which is advantageous for gear position detection.

        We suggest a design method of Haptic Steering Warning System which is used to smart car or ADAS technology. Until now, this function has simple ON/OFF output logic then a driver is difficult to know what dangerous situation is occur during the driving. At this document, steering wheel outputs various vibration feeling using PC program and reduces system cost since it uses integrated 1 ECU while there were 2 ECUs separately. Also if developers use PC program, they can manage a number of feeling channels conveniently including save or load work. So we introduce the study about these results.

      • 공조시스템을 위한 In-car 센서 적용 방법에 관한 연구

        Vehicle HVAC(Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) system regulates the air circulation in the vehicle interior and controls the temperature, humidity, etc. to provide a pleasant environment while the person is riding. In the past, vehicles manually set the temperature and air flow manually, but recently, the air conditioning system automatically determines the air conditioning according to the situation by the development of sensor technology and electronic control system. In-car sensor plays an important role in detecting the current room temperature of the vehicle when controlling the automatic air conditioning. This system can judge present temperature from in-car sensor and control air condition like air volume, air temperature, and air direction. However the sensor data provided by third party vendor is limited so system needs more detailed temperature data using interpolation. This method is using general excel trendline option and any engineer can easily apply it. We suggest a cubic equation for interpolation and provide test results of our sample how to apply mass production.

        We suggest calibration algorithm for gesture function that multimedia system uses control function via input control device. Many global OEMs trying to apply gesture because it’s more convenient and safer while a driver is concentrate with driving. But there are a few problems about high costs, mass-product, and malfunction. Generally the methods of gesture technology are image processing using camera, infrared rays, etc. Above all, we are developing cost-efficient IR method that malfunction is come from IR rank and optical lens differences. Best solution is using just same part of semiconductor and mechanical size but it’s not simple. To resolve and minimalize this problem, we tried to apply linear interpolation then IR input data is enhanced and more accurate. Here are our suggestions and test results.

      • 스티어링 휠 열선 기능을 위한 PI 제어 알고리즘 개발

        We are developing a automotive ECU using PI algorithm for Heated Steering Wheel. It may be varied and complicated in the control method of Heated Steering Wheel function in the future. At start, the control of temperature is simple ON/OFF logic but temperature is hunting. It affects quality of human feeling and function of multi-step temperature control product. In order to prevent from hunting temperature, we decided to apply PI control keeping current temperature after reaching target temperature. We tested continually because PI control needs finding constant value using in software algorithm. Here are our PI control design and tested results for Heated Steering Wheel.
