Objectives The purpose of our study was to verify whether the Seven Emotions evaluated by Guibi-Tang questionnaire (GTQ) were predictive of self-awareness level of one`s quality of life (QOL). Methods Eighty volunteers participated in this study and completed the GTQ. In addition, the volunteers were asked to answer one`s self-awareness of the QOL using numerical scale. Factor analysis was conducted for extraction of GTQ factors. Structural Equation Model (SEM) was conducted to verify path structure. Results The estimates of the four factors on the level of one`s QOL demonstrated that Chest Factor (=-0.330) showed the highest level of correlation followed by the seven emotions (=-0.213); Deficient fire (=0.141); and Qi Deficiency (=-0.023). Model fit is X2=34.740 (df=36), GFI=0.931, AGFI=0.873, NFI=0.867, RFI=0.797, IFI=0.975, TLI=1.006, CFI=1.009, RMSEA=0.000. Therefore, considering these values, SEM could be accepted as a workable model. Conclusions Our study results suggest that According to SEM, The Seven Emotions evaluated by GTQ are predictable for self-awareness of one`s QOL.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find out the correlation between the Vocal indicators and the `Buzhongyiqi- Tang questionnaire` and the `Chalder fatigue scale.` Methods : This study examined the mean value of each factor in the `Buzhongyiqi-Tang Questionnaire,` `Chalder fatigue scale` and the different voice indicators conducted on 81 healthy adult participants in relation to the results of the /a/ /e/ /i/ /o/ /u/ pronunciation test. Results : There was significant correlation between the pronunciation of /a/ /e/ /i/ /o/ /u/ vowels` F0 indexes and `the Deficiency symptoms of Buzhongyiqi-Tang`. The results of the regression analysis showed the following significant findings for each pronouncing vowels: /i/ as a factor for `the Deficiency symptoms of Buzhongyiqi- Tang`.; /a/ for `the Consumptive fever of Buzhongyiqi-Tang`.; /i/ for `the Vocal inflammation of Buzhongyiqi- Tang.; and /e/ as a factor of `the Chadler physical fatigue`. Conclusions : The study showed a negative correlation between the Fundamental Frequency and the mean value of the questionnaire, which could be understood as higher the fatigue level, increased level of vocal vibration and higher pitch tone compared to the less fatigued group. We expect future studies to conduct research on methods to diagnose other illnesses using the vocal indicators based on the correlation between the vocal index and illnesses prescribed under traditional oriental medicine.

Purpose : To find out correlation between the Vocal indicators and the `Buzhongyiqi-Tang questionnaire`. Method : The `Buzhongyiqi-Tang questionnaire` is given to 83 healthy adults and collected their voice /a/ /e/ /i/ /o/ /u/. Analyze mean values of each factors of the Vocal indicators and the `Buzhongyiqi-Tang questionnaire`. Conclusions : R square values of /i/ sound in factor 1 and factor 3 of `Buzhongyiqi-Tang questionnaire` are noticeably high. The value of vocal diagnosis index F0, Fundamental Frequency, in Factor 1 and factor 3 of `Buzhongyiqi-Tang questionnaire` are considerable. The research has shown conclusively that there is a link between The value of vocal diagnosis index F0 and Factor 3, lung deficiency factor, of `Buzhongyiqi-Tang questionnaire`.

Purpose : To review studies about voice diagnosis in orieltal medicine Method : The papers reviewed in this study were searched through internet search engines. For chinese studies, China National Knowledge Infrastructure(www.cnki.net) was the main source of the information and the key words for Voice diagnosis studies were “語聲” , "聲診“ and 中醫”(TCM). Conclusions : In Oriental Medicine, There are two ways to research about voices. One way is to research through philological consideration with subjectical and experimental diagnosis & studies as human bowel related in traditional studies. The other way is to research through Computerized Speech Lab(CSL), differential diagnosis for Sasang constitution and disease.

Objective: We performed this study to check relationship of Cold-Heat attribute analyzed quantitatively by questionnaire with acoustic analysis index. Method : We checked a questionnaire composed of 15 items about the contents of Cold-Heat and asked 83 subjects to answer in the form Likert-like 7-points score. And then, we extracted Cold-Heat attribute from heat score, cold score, heat index and cold index. we measured the acoustic analysis indexes of cardinal vowels by Dr. speech program. Afterward, the data were analyzed by correlation analysis. Results : All cardinal vowels is positive correlated with cold score, heat score and cold index. NNE of vowel /a/ is negative correlated with cold index. Shimmer and F0 tremor of vowel /e/ is negative correlated with cold index. Jitter of vower /u/ is positive correlated with Cold score.
