디지털미디어와 동아시아론의 확장 : 문학비평에서 문화비평으로

동아시아론은 1990년대에 등장한 대안담론, 이른바 세계체제와 분단체제를 매개하면서 민족문학론의 한계를 넘어서고자 하는 실천적 담론이다. 최원식 교수의 「민족문학론의 반성과 전망」(1982)에서 시작되어 「탈냉전시대와 동아시아적 시각의 모색」(1993)에서 구체화한 동아시아론은 백낙청 교수의 변혁적 중도주의와 백영서 교수의 복합국가론 등으로 분화, 발전하면서 90년대의 대안담론으로 부상하였다. 이 같은 성과와 의의에도 불구하고 동아시아론은 많은 과제를 안고 있다. 요컨대 동아시아론의 정당성과 필연성을 보다 공고화하면서 21세기 삶과 문명의 패러다임에 지대한 영향을 행사하고 있는 웹과 접속하는 일 등이 그러하다. 한류열풍과 촛불집회 그리고 중동 민주화 등이 잘 보여주고 있듯 웹과 소셜 미디어는 현실정치에 큰 영향력을 행사하면서 새로운 대안의 공간으로 부상하고 있다. 이런 점에서 비추어 동아시아 공동의 웹 포털을 구축하고 블로그 등을 통해서 대중과의 소통의 채널을 확보하는 한편, 새로운 비평의 공간을 만들어내는 사이버 동아시아론과 세속화한 비평적 글쓰기는 동아시아론의 시급한 과제라 할 수 있다. Discourse of East Asia, the revolutionary discourse of alternative raised in 1990’s can be defined a practical theory to overcome the Division System of Korea peninsula and to link with Minjokmunhakron(resistant movement of national literature of Korea is similar to French Engagement). The Discourse originated from Choi Won-Shik’s “Reflection and Outlook on Minjokmunhakron”(1982)and embodied in his “Seeking on Asian Perspective of the Era of Detente”(1993),began to improve and to differentiate into a variety of theories such as Baek Nak-Cheong’s Revolutionary Middle Way and Baek Young-Suh’s Compounding Nation States. Hereafter, it has emerged as representation theory in 1990’s. Despite these achievement and significance of the Discourse, it is faced with many challenges now. In short, it is inevitable and mandatory for the Discourse to consolidate its legitimacy and necessity and to access the web impacted on everyday life and paradigm of the 21st century. As this case illustrating the crazy for Hallyu(Korean wave), political candlelight vigil and Mideast democracy movement, Cyberspace and Social Networking Service have exerted a strong influence on the political realities and emerged as the new alternative’s. In this regard, it is an urgent task that communicates with the public through the dedicated web site and makes space for criticism through the secularized critical writing, given to the e-Discourse.
