The purpose of this study was to develop a profile of the level of motor skills of Korean-American children living in the United States. Proficiency in both locomotor and object control skills were measured for 24 Korean-American male children age 34 to 28 months, using the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD) (Ulrich, 1985). Results indicated the mean standard score for the locomotor skills of the subjects was 11 (63rd percentile) ; while the range was from the 1st - 98th percentile. The mean standard score for the object control skills of Korean-American children was 13 (84th percentile) ; while the range of object-control standard scores was from the 37th - 99th percentile. While group mean data show average to above average skill development, individual data dipict wide variance in skill level. Further research should study motor skills of native Korean children to gain better insight into the development of these skills.
