I presented the direction of the research by reviewing the study for the mask plays that range Naktong River and its river valley. Only except for the records of the relativity of the mask plays written by Jung Sang-pak, most of them were not stated with some absolute evidence, but intuitive knowledge. The Daegwangdae, which is a kind of nomadic theatrical entertainment, performed a play for Ogwangdae. A lot of researchers paid attention to Chogye Bammari that was a big market near the Naktong River and played a leading role as a headquarter for Daegwangdae. It is a general view that mask plays spreaded from the upstream to the middle stream, from the middle stream to the downstream, and from the downstream to the sea as a water traffic, but it is no more than an assumption. We should cover a wider range than a water route, and relate it to a social culture of the Naktong River. Also, we have to regard the Naktong River as not only passage for spreading mask plays, but also for making it different to the culture between the east and the west. If you do that, you can understand the difference between Ogwangdae and Deulnoleum. Seo Yeon-ho considered mask play, Sandaedogam developed from the ancient mask plays of Youngnam area. If we accept this view. The exiting theory that Ogwangdae and Daegwangdae and so forth were caused by Sandaedogam has to be reviewed. According to this, the mask plays of the Naktong River and its valley are brought into focus in the research for the mask play of Korea.
