Friction losses in engine of automobile are very high because its cylinder sizes are small, area of sliding surface is comparatively large and it is used frequently in low output.<br/> Therefore, In order to analysis the characteristics of elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication between the piston ring and the cylinder of the actual engine, The numerical analysis of EHL was studied.<br/> As the numerical analysis method, we used the Newton-Raphson Method of which convergence is very good for a highly loaded contact of EHL.<br/>

In this paper, we studied the method of fatigue life estimation for Body Structure. In the first place, we have measured random road surface and acquired Displacement PSD about the road surface.In dynamic analysis,we have acquired stress PSD using the displacement PSD as a input. Using this stress PSD, Body fatigue life can be estimated because Stress PSD involved Dynamic stress history of the FE model shell element describing body structure. The availability of this method is confirmed through proving ground fatigue test.<br/>
