The ultra-fine machining technology was developed for manufacturing the bidirectional optical waveguide (channel width of 100㎛ and 980㎛ ) with low cost in this study. The bidirectional optical waveguide is an important component in the industry of high-speed communication. End-milling technology was proved not to be proper for machining the channel of the waveguide because the surface roughness was too high. However, the planing technology using a diamond tool showed sufficient roughness in case of the all two channels. The waveguide was molded by the machined mold, and the molded waveguide worked successfully under high-sneed optical communication condition.
